The tour guide was very knowledgeable about this topic, and the tour itself was very engaging. They were great at keeping the group together and safe.
A must for true crime and spooky lovers!
When I go to a place, I usually look up crime and spooky things about the area. I was quite cocky about New Orleans when H said I should go and do a true crime walking tour. I told him I know what happened there and I don't need to attend as I already know the tales and stories about the area, especially the French Quarter. Boy was I wrong! The very last night of our holiday, I decided to join a group at 6pm local time to hear all about the gruesome and spooky. Our guide was Maude and 98% of the stories I heard were new to me and I listened to out tour guide with awe. It turned out, we're very similar so we clicked quite instantly and I may dare to say, I made a friend that day. After our last stop, I got walk into a bar where the victim met the perpetrators. I still have the chills by thinking about the claustrophobia inducing alley you need to take to get there and the atmosphere of the place. That story made its mark on that place. I really enjoyed that 2 hours, maybe even more than I should've. Although it was very interesting, the fact that so many gruesome murder and torture happened in that beautiful part of New Orleans made me sad. My heart was aching for the indigenous, the children, the slaves and for all those victims who suffered a horrible end. The corruption and the carelessness of the city is also very upsetting, knowing that the most dangerous pedestrian crossing is still unmarked and the police chief got away with a hit and run and she is still in charge! Thank you for showing me the hidden and unknown Maude, I will forever cherish that 2 hours I spent on your tour. ❤️
We left early. 30 mins...
We left early. 30 mins into a 1.5 hr tour, and not one story about "killers". Very generic and not much detail. After leaving early, we passed the same tour with a different guide and it sounded way more informative and entertaining than our guide.
No thrillers and a couple of killers
Only about 2 real killers. A lot of history. Mostly talked about women’s hard lives and a couple of them killed. Save your money.
Uma is the best guide!
Uma was an amazing guide and story teller. She was a wealth of information and did not hold back on the “killers and thrillers.” She was very personable and it made for an excellent experience. The tour was amazing.
