Our guide was Jack who was wonderful. He shared lots of knowledge and couldn’t have been friendlier. Food stops were really good and we loved trying new things. Would definitely recommend this tour!
This is a can't miss!
If you do only one tour in New Orleans, make it this one, and if you can, ask for Jack. We spent 72 hours in New Orleans and packed a lot into our trip, including many of the classic attractions and experiences. Without question, our three-hour Destination Kitchen food and history walking tour with Jack was one of the absolute highlights of the entire weekend. Jack was exceptional. The three hours genuinely flew by. He has that rare ability to make a tour feel informative without ever feeling scripted or rehearsed. He brought the food, history, neighborhoods, and culture of New Orleans to life in a way that felt authentic, thoughtful, and genuinely engaging. Just as impressive was how naturally he connected with everyone in our group. He remembered people, drew everyone into the conversation, answered questions with real depth, and somehow made a group tour feel personal. The food was fantastic, but Jack elevated the experience far beyond simply stopping at great places to eat. By the end, we felt like we understood New Orleans a little better, not just its food, but the stories, people, traditions, and history behind it. We easily could have kept walking and listening for another few hours. After everything we did during our 72 hours in the city, this is the experience I would tell friends and family not to miss. Destination Kitchen absolutely deserves to be on anyone’s New Orleans itinerary, and I would strongly recommend making a special request for Jack as your guide. He made an already great city even more memorable for us. Five stars without hesitation. An outstanding experience from beginning to end.
