Very passionate about...
Very passionate about work. Although, it would help to play errie music, rather than modern music. Good tour.
A tour of two cemeteries, one old one modern.
This night tour covers two cemeteries, an older, mostly 19th Century, Masonic graveyard and a very modern (currently being used) burial park. The first cemetery was really interesting with huge stone tombs, leaning gravestones, creepy pathways and such as you would expect. The tour was guided and quite interesting although not especially well researched. However the second cemetery was modern, polished granite with office like stacks of tombs being in use and included coffin trolleys, tombs being prepared for burial and flowers from grieving families which just weird. This was not the gothic tombs from the long dead I was expecting on the tour. I felt it was quite disrespectful and sad. The lights in some buildings were on. Why these were open at night to wander freely I’m not sure but and there were mops and buckets around from the cleaners etc. We were left to walk round unguided for half an hour. So half the tour was great but the second half of the tour was odd, not in a good way.
A total waste of money!
This was not a tour but merely a noisy bus ride to two cemeteries where we were dropped off to explore on our own followed by a long restroom break at a random restaurant. Zero history/stories shared. Take a different tour! I have been to many good tours in Nola, and this one was a huge disappointment.
Roy was an AWESOME tour guide!
Roy was EXCELLENT! He played awesome music, was extremely knowledgeable and had a great attitude. He was somehow able to control a bus full of rowdy drunken tourists and make sure everyone had a fun time. Highly recommend.
Cemetary tour with Henry
We took a taxi to the meeting spot and there was roadwork being done so we got dropped off behind it. Tour guide brought us to the 1st Cemetary and was very unclear about what we were doing. Showed us a few sites……I had a really hard time understanding him. We stopped for a potty break that lasted a LONG time!!!! The last Cemetary was very dark we got off the bus he showed us a grave with a bunch of cockroaches on it….with his flashlight! And then said to go roam around ourselves. It was dark out, my sister doesn’t own a smart phone and my flashlight on my phone wouldn’t work What the HELL!!! Maybe suggest people bring a flashlight or provide them. So basically we just stood by the bus. When he returned he drove us back to the pickup point, which was full of homeless people Henry needs to talk clearer and try giving more info or stories on his tours. That is why I would NOT recommend this tour to anyone I think with a clearer more informative guide this would have been great
