Itinerary
After pickup from your cruise ship dock, take a 30 minute drive to Pompeii, an ancient Roman city that was entirely destroyed by the sudden eruption of Mt Vesuvius in 79 AD. The largest archaeological site in Europe, today Pompeii is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. When you arrive, your guide will skip the line to buy your group’s tickets and lead you on a 2 hour walking tour of the fascinating grounds. Witness the destruction first-hand as you visit Pompeii’s most famous sites, including the Forum, thermal baths, lupanare, greek theatre and plaster casts of the bodies of Pompeii people, giving you a glimpse into daily life during the Pax Romana. Today you can see shapes of objects — even bodies — that were buried beneath the volcanic ash and pumice.
After Pompeii visit, enjoy some free time to browse the shops followed by a pizza lunch with your group. Then board the coach and drive 40 minutes to legendary Mt Vesuvius. Embark on a moderate hike up the volcano with your guide. When you reach the summit at 3,900 feet (1,200 meters), you’ll be rewarded with panoramic views of the picturesque Bay of Naples from east to west. Peer down into the crater and see plumes of steam issuing from the sleeping, but still active, volcano! There is a rest point where you can choose to wait for your group if you do not wish to climb all the way to the top, but the hike is worth the effort. After your Mt Vesuvius hike, relax on the drive back to Naples in the late afternoon.

Traveler reviews
Bad experience and lack of professionalism and organization
Overall very disappointing experience, with several aspects that puzzle the organization of the service. The tour of Pompeii was the only positive element: the guide proved competent and professional. Unfortunately, everything else was not up to scratch. The transport took place on a minivan in decidedly poor condition (shock absorbers evidently worn), making the journey uncomfortable. As for Vesuvius, despite being closed, we were still taken to the top to “wait for any developments”, with the result of losing about an hour still in the middle, without any added value for the experience. Upon returning, we were left at a different point than the starting point, despite being hastily indicated otherwise, creating further discomfort. Even the organization of lunch was lacking: waiting times of more than an hour for a simple pizza. In the face of these critical issues, we requested a partial refund for a service not provided properly, but we have not received any more response. In addition, payment has been requested exclusively in cash and, to date, no invoice has yet been issued. Overall, an unprofessional experience and not in line with what you would expect from an organized tour.
Very nice excursion in...
Excursion very nice in itself, our guide to Pompeii Bernadette was top. Lunch break too long, we almost missed the departure of our liner .. beautiful anxiety and final Sprint 😫 And in the morning, really bad organization to find the mini bus .. we had a photo of the meeting place and we stayed there waiting ... but no one .. really to see! We were finally able to leave with the band because the guy came back to get us but really really reorganize yourself! We have another excursion tomorrow I hope it's less complicated
Super Excursion Pompeii and Vesuvius Naples
We loved this excursion The organization was top the round trip from the port of Naples took care of by bus The drivers and organizers Alba and Gennaro were super, kindness Our Francophone guide Susie for the visit of Pompeii was super also the explanations were clear and precise Everything was perfect nothing to do again!
Un impressive
Can not take pictures and stay with guide she went too fast Didn’t say she was moving on while we were told take pictures included lunch was pizza or pasta but was told pizza would take too long to make so I wanted pizza from Naples but wasn’t allowed
Find another tour!
The most unorganized tour. Multiple handoffs to different guides. Everyone confused and very little communication. The tour guide in Pompeii cared more about conversing with her Italian friend that joined us then she did about ensuring that the group was following her or understood what she was saying. We spent a long time waiting for her to finish her conversations before we continued the actual tour. Plus, for whatever reason, we were never even taken to the museum itself. I’ve been there for years and that is truly something to be seen and we did not have any time left to go to the museum. Lunch was included, but even lunch was chaotic and we thought we were getting pizza but instead wind up with salad. Then we waited for what seemed like a long time for yet another guide and another bus to take us to Mount Vesuvius. I would not recommend booking this if this is your first time going to Pompeii
