Full description

Located in the cliffs above Idaho Springs, AVA's Mount Blue Sky Via Ferrata is one of our most thrilling adventures. Via Ferrata, which means “iron way” in Italian, is an exciting method of mountaineering & rock climbing to traverse mountainous areas! On our Via Ferrata course, you will use a combination of ladders, rungs, rails, cables, and bridges to move across and up a cliff face, experiencing the thrill of climbing high above Idaho Springs and the Chicago Creek. Guests clip in and out of cables that run along the side of a cliff, moving along a designated path of iron rungs and bridges. Our course utilizes an internal locking system with 2 carabiners that make it impossible to clip out of both at the same time, ensuring that climbers always remain connected to the course. Our Via Ferrata course even includes several of our exciting ziplines!

Our guides were Lexie and Tommy and they made our trip so much fun! If you are allowed to request guides, request them if you are looking for music (oldies), singing and dancing while you wait your turn, light-heartedness, history about the area, strong sense of safety, and complete joy. There were 6 ziplines, each with their own unique adventure through the Rocky Mountains. Highly recommend.
