Itinerary
Meet your tour guide at Pier No. 1 to begin a relaxing cruise to Vitznau on the picturesque Lake Lucerne.
Upon arrival in Vitznau, transfer to the cogwheel train to reach the summit, Rigi Kulm. You’ll have some free time to explore the hiking trails, enjoy a quiet moment at the Rigi Kulm mountain chapel, or grab a bite at one of the local restaurants.
Continue to the car-free village of Rigi Kaltbad by cogwheel train and take a stroll around the village square, where you’ll spot the Mineralbad & Spa, designed by renowned Swiss architect Mario Botta — a true gem for architecture enthusiasts! You can then follow an easy hiking trail with a gentle incline to the Känzeli viewing platform (2 km, optional) and enjoy breathtaking views of the Alpine ranges from a new perspective.
Descend by aerial cable car and enjoy the stunning views of Lake Lucerne. Take a short walk downhill to the Weggis boat station, which Mark Twain famously referred to in 1897 as the “most charming place,” and capture the breathtaking scenery of the Lucerne Riviera with your camera.
Board the boat back to Lucerne and enjoy the beautiful scenery as you relax.

Traveler reviews
A lovely day on Mount Rigi
Our tour guide Robert was great, guiding us through a lovely ferry ride to a charming cog wheel train ride to the top of the mountain where we experienced amazing views of Lake Lucerne and the surrounding countryside. Robert offered several options for activities, lunch and the return down. We chose to hike down, not a difficult hike. Pro tip, choose the path to Hotel Edelweiss Rigi and have lunch there, you’ll be glad you did. After lunch, we continued the hike to Kaltbad where we caught the cable car to Weggis, followed by a short ferry ride back to Lucerne. A lovely day!
Amazing time, Daniel was...
Amazing time, Daniel was a great tour guide. We saw a lot of Switzerland landscape. The boat, train & gondala a lot of fun.

Gaby was an incredible guide! She was extremely knowledgeable about the city, culture, and history. The tour was well paced and we got to see so much beauty. Highly recommend!
Mount Rigi...beautiful views.
Overall, this was a great experience. Our guide Erika was helpful and knowledgeable. We did find the tour a bit too long...we could have spent less time up on the mountain, and there was a fair amount of time spent waiting for the train, and then the cable car. I assumed that tickets for each leg had been purchased prior to the tour, but that didn't seem to be the case. Also meeting of our guide was somewhat disorganized. Mount Rigi was beautiful.
Wish for good weather. ...
Wish for good weather. It rained the entire time so visibiliy was poor. Erica our guide did an amazing job talking about the history of the moutain and the cog railroad. She adjusted our time to where we got an hour tour of Lucerne due to the inclimate weather.
