Monument Valley - NAVAJO Back Country Tour

Monument Valley could easily be a drive through and say you saw it and move on. However, with this Back Country Tour the Navajo Traditions, Culture, Music and the overall "back story," brings it all to life. Plus, you get the see some of the "Movie Sets" of many Favorite Movies, such as, Indiana Jones and several other well-known movies. My wife was born and raised in Germany, and saw a few old western movies, but see never was exposed to any type of exposure to Native American Culture or history of the Wild West. She has developed a very deep engagement in learning more about all this now. A bonus - Education while sight-seeing! A MUST DO!

Unique Navajo experience with additional access to the park

We had previously done a self-guided tour which requires a four wheel drive vehicle. This guided tour was so much more! The guide took us on several restricted areas of the park where we saw arches, petroglyphs and Navajo homes. We also saw a weaving demonstration by a resident Navajo.

Awesome Monument Valley Tour with Travis

This was a fantastic experience! Our guide, Travis, was outstanding. Not only did he provide insights into the history and tribal importance of Monument Valley, he treated us to a couple of awesome songs (he is a very good musician). We went on the 8:30am tour, which lasted a bit over 3.5 hours. I recommend both this tour and Travis as your guide if you want a memorable day.

Monument Valley backcountry tour with Monument Valley Tribal Tours

Travis was an outstanding tour guide! He was incredibly knowledgeable about Monument Valley and shared so much about the culture, traditions, and history of his people. He told wonderful stories about his upbringing that made the experience feel personal and meaningful. He also had a great sense of humor and brought so much energy and positivity to the tour. One of the most memorable moments was when he played the guitar and flute and sang a beautiful blessing song for us before the tour ended. It was truly an unforgettable day and such a special experience, made even better by our amazing guide, Travis. Highly recommend!
