A day at monastery
Excellent guide - all went very well. Pick up, timing of the day’s activities, commentary. Site was outstanding.
Good if you do the hike!
Overall a nice day but it’s what you make of it. It’s an hour bus ride for a 15 minute admission to inside the monastery. After that it’s 3 hours of free time to explore. I chose to do a hike of the mountain but if you are not into hiking/paying extra for the funicular to get to the top of the mountain - not much else to do there besides browse gift shops and restaurants.
An excursion that is worth the detour
Our guide Mark was perfect from start to finish. Meeting at the scheduled time, bus departure on time despite 2 people not being present. The commentary along the way and at Montserrat was very educational. The scenery at the top is breathtaking.

The trip was worth every penny. Our travel guide Marc was amazing. We learned alot from him about Montserrat history and Catalonia overall. The view from the top of the Montserrat was breathtaking and I would recommend everyone who got an extra day in Barcelona to checkout this half day trip.
Wonderful excursion to a beautiful location!
Marc was a great guide! On time, organized, knowledgeable, funny, and with suggestions/recommendations about spending our free time in Montserrat. We couldn't ask for more. All in all, a glorious day!
