Good to know
- Pickup will be in a 4x4 Land Cruiser on Private basis
- Children aged 4.99 years and under are not allowed to join the Tour, no discount for children, adult rate will be applicable
- Dress code: lightweight summer clothing is suitable for most of the year, but sweaters or jackets may be needed for the winter months, especially in the evenings. Good quality sunglasses are advised. Hats are advisable when in direct sunlight
- Guests visiting the UAE during the Summer months (June – September) are advised that peak daytime temperatures sometimes reach 42 – 45 degrees Celsius. Humidity levels can also exceed 90 percent during this period. We recommend all our guests to take adequate precaution
- The Dubai desert can get cooler in the evenings during winter, so we recommend you bring a light jacket and closed shoes. Please wear sports shoes for safe sand boarding
- On a cloudy / hazy day the stargazing experience may be affected
- Guests can use toilet facilities at the Desert campsite
- All facilities at the camp site are basic and cannot be compared with any hotel accommodation.
- The duration of the actual tour takes 12 - 13 hour but the driving time from Dubai hotel and return may take another 2 – 2.5 hours depending on traffic conditions and time of day

Overnight under the Stars
Lovely experience camping overnight for the yoga retreat, thanks to Jacqi and team who organized the whole event. Amazing time with lovely ladies and great vibes. Weather was perfect too. will definitely do it again and recommend everyone to try it.
Best Desert Camping Value for Money
We stayed overnight with a group of 9 and had the entire camp to ourselves that night. The setting is perfect, with Fossil Rock and the mountains all around. Dinner was tasty and plentiful and our guide Shihab was very helpful. The kids enjoyed the astronomy show but didn’t see the archery we had read about. Bathrooms are spotless. Tents and sleeping bags were comfortable, we had brought our own pillows. We didn’t sleep too well because the wind was ferocious but he said that is uncommon. It was a bonus that we had our car parked right there for extra storage. Overall A+ experience.

Spectacular desert experience
The desert setting is stunning, torchlit dining after dark - vegetarians willingly and abundantly catered for, followed by stargazing led by the accomplished Astro-science communicator and Astrophotographer Prabhu and his knowledgeable team. And that’s just the evening activities. Woken for sunrise, you’re transported to the stunning peak to watch sun rise over the expansive Mleiha valley. Unlimited beauty in every direction. A short walk in the dunes lead by Prabhu to Fossil Rock to see the spirals of seashells of times long ago when this land was part of the seabed. These were the highlights for me. The team were super friendly and knowledgeable with a safe and healthy respect of Covid precautions maintained throughout. My Mleiha visit was the highlight of my time in Dubai, highly highly recommended!
