ADVENTURE BUYER BEWARE
KNOW BEFORE YOU GO !!! Read other reviews on Travelocity. Many are very poor. This business is a definite 'Bait and Switch'. I prepaid for the premium ATV online. Things you should know: 1) I never received a confirmation of my purchase/date/time/arrival time. Luckily we decided to go 1.5 hours early because we were nervous about our time. We waited in line for 45 minutes and were not early. 2) Once at the counter, we were pressured to purchase another upgrade to a private tour. We refused. 3) At the counter we were pressured to purchase additional insurance at $40 per person. 4) At the counter we were also asked to pay a park entrance fee of $25 per person. To be fair, this park fee was in the fine print when we reserved online. 5) This is a 45 minute+ drive from Cabo San Lucas. Their literature says it's much closer. So even though we had pre--paid for the premium package, we owed an additional $133.72 for two people on arrival. I can't imagine what families of 5 or so must pay! To top it off, they "required" everyone to put their belongings (purse, wallet, cell phone, passport, etc) into lockers that WOULD NOT LOCK. They were not secure at all. (The only thing we put in the locker was a hat and it was gone when we returned) When we found this out, we were going to leave, but our agent got 'special permission' from the manager to allow us to carry our valuables with us. We found out later that the reason they don't want you carrying them is because they want to take pictures for you and charge you another $100 to purchase the pictures after the ride. What a scam! I'm sure there might be some not-bright people who try to record things on their phone while on the ATV. Maybe they crashed or dropped their phone in the sand. Our guide was Mirasol. She was fantastic! She was knowledgeable about the safety and function of the vehicles and she was more than patient with members of our group who kept driving off the trail and into bushes. People can be wacky! Overall, I would give this experience a 4 of 10. Mirasol was great. Riding the ATV was meh. But if it's on your bucket list, you should do it. Just be sure to keep track of all your reservation details and know that your charges will DOUBLE once you are on site.
Tourist scam
Good activity (utv). The price paid does not correspond at all to the advertised price: addition of insurance, exorbitant exchange rate imposed, ... Big wait and change of information for activity and transfers. The return trip took 90 minutes instead of 20 minutes. The guide was unpleasant. He didn't tell us anything and took absolutely no interest in us. We did not take the combo of activities and that seemed to be a problem. In short far too much stress and time spent for a 2 hour activity. Too bad.
