This world-renowned institution boasts a collection of more than 2 million objects, from Roman artifacts to 19th-century paintings. Your guide leads you by models of Egyptian tombs to the Temple of Dendur, which dates to 15 BC. Cross over to Tudor-era England to check out King Henry VIII's suit of armor, and hear the legends that surround the Antioch Chalice—believed to be the Holy Grail. Meander through the Greek and Roman statuary, absorbing the sense of history as you admire ancient frescoes and the busts of emperors past. Hear about the scandal behind John Singer Sargent's Madame X and enjoy the highlights—and even a few hidden gems—of the Met, with a knowledgeable art expert guide to lead the way. This guided Met tour is the best way to take advantage of the riches that are inside one of the world’s greatest art museums, chose between the 2 hour or 3 hour options.

Traveler reviews
Fine art
Our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable. It was an excellent museum experience if you love fine art from Egyptian Chinese European you can’t beat the Metropolitan museum or the Frick. I highly recommend taking a tour through one or both and enjoying all the different. Great artists.
Better Options
The tour does not give you headsets so it’s hard to hear the guide and the group can be up to 15 or 16 people. When I’ve done tours like this in the past, the guide would make sure to hit the most important works. This tour seemed rushed and unorganized. It was made especially worse because I couldn’t hear the guide. I would use a different tour company next time.
This guy is intelligent very knowledgeable an asset to your company
Knowledgeable Kevin Extremely helpful, wonderful person, and again an asset to this company!!!!! being a artist and a professor of art what else could you ask for for a guide in the Metropolitan Museum of our? I would definitely send my friends and family here and I would definitely have them take KEVIN’s tour.
The tour operator can’t...
The tour operator can’t be reached by phone. We are expecting delays due to traffic and the tour operator didn’t bother checking in on us by calling or texting. When we got to The Met, the tour already started and tour guide have our tickets and we can’t get in. We paid $345 for a guided tour ($30/ea if bought onsite without guide, btw!) and refused to refund us upon “thorough investigation”. It would be acceptable if they just have followed up on us and missed our tour.
Guided tour
Visiting the Met is daunting, but I’m glad I booked a 2 hour guided tour with Viator. Myself and family learned so much and actually really enjoyed the museum. Our guide Jett M. Is very knowledgeable and explained the highlights very well, he was patient and accommodating. Highly recommend Viator guided tours.
