Melbourne Food Tour

We spent an incredible morning with Matthias (“Matt”!) who is a wonderful guide. Not only is Matt very knowledgeable, he is also very personable and easy to talk to. He took us to several different parts of the city that we would otherwise not have visited on our own. We loved seeing Melbourne through the eyes of a local! I hope we have an opportunity to have Matt guide us again on our next trip to Melbourne

Fabulous Eats and Art tour with Matthias

Matthias was very personable and took time as soon as we met to get to know my wife and me and personalize our tour to what we wanted to see and do and eat. I have a gluten issue and Matthias considered that the entire day. He suggested things we didn’t have a real interest in like the formula one track that was being dismantled after a race last week and it was actually very interesting to drive the track and see what the drivers had to navigate. He drove us through several sections of the city and told us about the various sections. We stopped at a small local cafe early in the day and it was excellent. He also took us to several other spots we could have experienced the treats, but we were too full from the first stop. We tend to be very light eaters, most people would probably be able to eat at the wonderful places Matthias took us to eat. We also saw several beautiful buildings with drastically different architectural styles in very close proximity to each other. I love architecture so that was very enjoyable. We also went down several streets that exhibited street art and Matthias told us about several of the artists and how some are commissioned but most are not. We even got to see an artist at work on Hosier Street that Matthias knew. We went to a small “street art” gallery that was absolutely amazing. There was a dedicated Banksy room with a large variety of his art. It’s hard to believe the art displayed was street artists, it was amazing! Then we stopped for a gelato that was fabulous. We were heading back and Matthias was telling the story about the bar “Naked for Satan.” Great story and as we got close asked if we wanted to stop for a drink and we did, an early cocktail at a very unique place. It was beautiful inside and the rooftop bar was beautiful with outdoor seating with a great view of the city. We took pictures with the woman making drinks in her Naked for Satan t-shirt, she was a lot of fun! Then Matthias dropped us off at the hotel and gave us suggestions for Grampian National Park, our next stop. Matthias is a great tour guide and an even better person!

Niko was a great guide and fun to walk around with. Gave us an insiders guide to the city and flavor of what life is like here. Really enjoyed ourselves.
