Black Sand Beach ⢠Wainapanapa is Mauiâs famous Black Sand Beach. Cobalt blue Ocean surrounded by black sand and black lava rocks from a recent flow only 10,000 years ago. Go for a walk along the edge of the bay and check out the blue water or just sit under a nice shade tree. This location is a great place to spend an hour relaxing, taking in one of the islands most beautiful locales. Fresh Water Caves and Lava Tubes ⢠We take you to volcanic caves which you could explore. And if you are lucky you could witness the legend of the caves come alive. Certain time of the year red shrimp appear, turning the water red. Let our tour guides tell you the legend of Princess Popoalaea. Blowhole ⢠See what happens when a lava tube meets the ocean. On the right day, you can see water spouting 20 feet in the air and mist blowing sideways for 200 feet.
⢠Just past the Keanae Arboretum along the Hana Highway, you'll find a road on the left past mile marker 16 down to the village of Keanae. Pay attention to the jagged, black lava rocks and note that there is no swimming here due to the dangerous and rocky shoreline. ⢠⢠A traditional Hawaiian village, Keanae is known for its taro fields, much like their ancestors. Traveler reviews
A perfect day!
We had a perfect day! We are so glad we decided to join this group instead of driving by ourselves to Hana. We could both calmly enjoy the views and our guide, Heavenly, stopped along the way at all the interesting sites. We had enough time at each site for ourselves to calmly enjoy. Heavenly, rightly named, was the best. Adorable, funny, answers to everything and so professional.
Road to Hana is worth it, and our family loved it! Memories made and gorgeous photos taken!
Very winding road and our tour guide was not only knowledgeable, but fun, and made the trip extra special. The photo opportunities were amazing and the time spent with family made it more than worthwhile. Highly recommend this tour and our tour guide. Would do it again!
Road to Hana
Our family did the road to Hana with Dynamic tour. This was definitely a memorable trip for all of us. The group that we were with were fantastic, Sean, who was our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable on the lay of the land, and showed us some amazing spots along the way. I would highly recommend using Dynamic tour if you're looking to book an excursion in Maui, and if you're lucky enough get Sean as your tour guide. If you do book with them, for your breakfast option, definitely go with the spam musubi, so good. đ. - Mahalo Sean and Dynamic tour.
Take this tour - do not drive it yourself
Amazing road trip with breathtaking views and great history. Definitely ride with an experienced driver. This road is not for non-islanders.
Road to Hana Tour.
The road has 617 curves and is a very scary drive. Tour is best way to travel it. Many spots are single lane and you need to know where to slow down.
