Dessert (pineapple) before dinner-nothing wrong with that!

What to do when you have to check out of your accommodations but your flight doesn’t leave until 10:30 pm? THIS! We enjoyed the afternoon tour with Brian learning about the process of planting, growing, harvesting and preparing the pineapples for us to enjoy at our table. You leave with a real appreciation for the time and work that goes into one piece of fruit. And how special it is that this is one of the few producers still in Hawaii! During the tour we walked through the production area, drove the fields on their mini bus, walked amongst the plants and tasted fresh pineapples. At the conclusion which was roughly 90 minutes, we ended back at their cute shop. Each person in our party got one pineapple that was boxed and ready for flight. TSA approved for carry on (since they will confiscate all other fruit- this pineapple is safe to travel). We added on the “feast” at the farm to table restaurant next door. Easily one of the best meals we enjoyed. Dine at your pleasure, order from their preset menu but can make modifications and add alcohol for an additional charge. More than enough food which prepared us for an overnight flight. Highly recommend and thought this was an excellent value. And don’t forget to TIP $$ your guide. They’re hard at work making your experience the best it can be.

Pineapple City

It was fun to learn about how pineapples and grown and farmed. Our tour guide was retired from the Maui Gold pineapple business, which made his insight interesting. The food at the General Store was good. It’s only a few steps away from the pineapple farm.
