Great all around tour

Enjoyed this day trip from Anchorage down scenic Seward Hwy with a couple spots along the way stopping at the Alaska Nature Conservancy to see a variety of animals behaving and or cared for when they can’t return to the wild. (Moose, Bison, Bears, porcupine, Reindeer, etc.) then through Portage Valley to board a boat to se up close and personal Portage Glacier. Incredible views from the boat. Our guide Sunshine definitely brought it and made the trip great! Highly recommend especially if first time to Alaska.

Anchorage 2026

Sean was a great guide on our tour. He took us to some great spots. We loved the moss forest and even got to hike to the glacier. We also had the unique experience of seeing mountain goats. Highly recommended

Awesome experience. ...

Awesome experience. Sean was a great guide. We ended up being the only 2 people in the group. 5 stars

Glacier was great, driver was less so

I HIGHLY recommend hiking Matanuska Glacier. This was one of my favorite excursions while in Alaska. Our glacier hiking guide was truly EXCELLENT. However, this tour operator was not at all what I expected. First, the drive is long. Okay, fine, this is Alaska, all the excursions are a hike. But this was the only tour I went on in 2 weeks of Alaska adventuring where the driver had nothing to offer. In fact, he gave us incorrect and potentially dangerous information. For instance, he told us that moose are not dangerous (this is a direct contradiction of every other guide I spoke with over the course of the trip) and we didn't need to be mindful of them when hiking. He was also from Florida and hadn't spent too much time in Alaska. Second, he did not provide any photography insight at all. He didn't teach us anything, show us how to get good photos, or even take our pictures. He did have a fancy camera and seemed to enjoy photography, but that was it. I chose this tour in part because I was solo this day, and I wanted to have some great photos on the glacier. Our driver hiked with us (this was surprising to the glacier hike guide, so maybe that doesn't always happen), but he never offered to take my photo once. I had to ask other people on the tour when I wanted a photo of myself. This was a small tour, five people total, so it was wild to me that he wasn't taking any photos and, actually, often seemed in the way when we were trying to get our own photos. So, basically you're paying a significant amount to be driven to the glacier. If you are in Anchorage and don't have a car, this may be a worthwhile tour. I LOVED hiking the glacier, but the tour was not as described (in fact, the tour description changed after I booked it, but the tour was not as described by the new description either).
