Full description
Today, we will come and pick you up directly at your ship in Marseille Cruise Port. Meet your English speaking driver/guide who will go over the itinerary and program of this private tour with you. Then board your premium A/C vehicle and begin to make your way to the town of Aix en Provence.
In the morning depart for your private small group full day tour from Marseille to Aix en Provence. The charming small town of Aix en Provence is known as the City of Water and City of Fine Arts. The number of fountains that are located in Aix is quite unusual and about 30 of them are considered to be Architectural highlights.
During your walking tour, you will also visit the historical old town of Aix en Provence. Admire the finesse of wrought iron sculpted on the balconies of the Houses that line Cours Mirabeau, Albertas square and the 17th century town hall. Other landmarks include Saint Sauveur Cloister and the nearby Cathedral.
Aix en Provence is also home to Fine Arts. One can follow the footsteps of famous Post Impressionist painter Paul Cézanne. Born in Aix en Provence, the painter is also buried here in the Saint Peter cemetery. It is possible today to visit his Painting Studio where one can still admire furniture, equipment and tiny details that will connect you with his life.
If History, Culture or Art is not your priority while on a shore excursion then another great option is to opt for a gourmet food & wine tour of Aix en Provence. The town is known for its large number of culinary specialties and the Provence wine region is just a few kilometers away.
Arrive in Cassis and discover this cute small fishing port as well as the calanques listed by Unesco as a world heritage national park. The land & sea area is known for its white cliffs and turquoise water. Enjoy some free time to explore and for personal discovery.
Cassis was one of the first in the region established as an Appellation d’Origine Protégée (AOP) in 1936. The village is one of the few local appellations comprising a single, tiny commune. While most nearby appellations were originally cultivated by Greek outposts, Cassis is based on Ligurian origins.

We had a very fun day with Matt to Mont Saint-Mitchel. Matt is an excellent tour guide & he cared for his clients very much. He's an on time person. We learned a lot about the history of Saint-Mitchel via Matt. He made sure we have enough time browsing this beautiful UNESCO. We definitely recommend friends & family this tour. Thank you Matt
Pascal was, above all, a smiling whirlwind of energy from the very start — bursting with knowledge, passion, and just the right amount of dramatic flair. He painted the horror of the Omaha Beach invasion so vividly that we could practically hear the chaos, then marched us through the bunkers at Pointe du Hoc like we were on a mission ourselves. And before we even caught our breath, he had already catapulted us back to Bayeux at invasion speed. A legend in tour‑guide form. Thanks from Croatian Team😉
Our Normandy D-Day tour was well worth it and we so enjoyed our tour guide Matt. He made the tour engaging, entertaining and informative. The tour was just the right size and a half day was perfect for us. It would have been much harder to get around to the sites and understand each without the information that Matt was constantly sharing. There was hardly a time that Matt was not telling us what/how/when of what we were looking at. Thanks Matt!
