Itinerary

1

Your day begins at the park entrance, or with optional pickup at selected locations. After you purchase Manuel Antonio National Park entrance tickets (at your own expense), you’ll continue into the nature reserve with a naturalist guide. Exploring this wildlife hotspot with a naturalist makes the most of every minute, as their trained eyes quickly spot animals such as monkeys, sloths, toucans, and more. And, this tour’s small-group format means more personalized attention from the guide. You can also use the group’s spotting scope to observe wildlife and take photos. A flexible itinerary, meanwhile, is tailored to guest preferences, whether you’re all about the jungle or interested in a beach walk. In between stops enjoy provided snacks, as well as the climate-controlled comfort of a tour vehicle for pickup and drop off. While this walking nature tour concludes at the park entrance, you’ll also have the option to stay inside the park. The tour guides have a Jade Tours uniform

Wildlife at its best

Day 1 in Costa Rica started with top notch tour in Manuel Antonio national park. Service picked us up at our lodging. On way tour guides saw two howler monkeys walking across wires suspended above the street and stopped to let us out as howlers are often heard but not seen. Kevin was our tour guide and took fabulous care of myself and my 3 adult children. Guides travel with telescopes on a tripod to get the most stunning close up views of the wildlife. And Kevin took pictures for us through the telescope for flawless National Geographic level shots. We saw a macaw, basilisk, vine snake, 2 different species of bats, capuchins monkeys, so many species of iguanas with the pinnacle being a sloth who climbed all the way down the tree for the best closeups. Kevin was so informative and led the tour at the pace that worked for our group. Hands down do the small group tours and ask for Kevin.

Stunning Nature Tour

This park was so stunning and diverse. We saw a macaw as we got out of the van, with our guide Kevin helping us photograph it through the telescope. Kevin was so lovely and knowledgeable. We learned so much about Costa Rica’s biodiversity and the importance of everything we saw to balancing the ecosystem.

A guide is a must to truly appreciate the park

Absolutely great tour, but only if you have a guide! Our guide, Leo, was absolutely fantastic! His friendly demeanor, knowledge of the park, the flora, fauna, and animals made the difference in the visit. Without a guide, you are basically just looking at trees and plants. The guide brings the park to life by identifying the plants, animals, their interrelationship and the ecological history that you would otherwise miss. I was stunned to learn that the park is only 53 years old (started around 1972) and was originally a farm! Who would have thought that!?! I applaud the foresight of the Costa Rican government those many years ago to create such a beautiful park for its people and tourists like me! Excellente! Even though we had already been to the rainforest in the cloud mountains of La Fortuna, this park visit was worth it - our guide, Leo, made the difference! Thanks Leo!!
