The Mortuary Temple of Hatshepsut, also known as the Djeser-Djeseru (Ancient Egyptian: ḏsr ḏsrw "Holy of Holies"), is a mortuary temple of Ancient Egypt located in Upper Egypt. Built for the Eighteenth Dynasty pharaoh Hatshepsut, it is located beneath the cliffs at Deir el-Bahari on the west bank of the Nile near the Valley of the Kings. This mortuary temple is dedicated to Amun and Hatshepsut and is situated next to the mortuary temple of Mentuhotep II, which served both as an inspiration and later, a quarry. It is considered one of the "incomparable monuments of ancient Egypt. The Polish Academy of Sciences in Warsaw is responsible for the study and restoration of the three levels of the temple. The Karnak Temple Complex, commonly known as Karnak (/ˈkɑːr.næk/ from Arabic Khurnak meaning "fortified village"), comprises a vast mix of decayed temples, chapels, pylons, and other buildings near Luxor, in Egypt. Construction at the complex began during the reign of Senusret I in the Middle Kingdom (around 2000-1700 BC) and continued into the Ptolemaic period (305 - 30 BC), although most of the extant buildings date from the New Kingdom. The area around Karnak was the ancient Egyptian Ipet-isut ("The Most Selected of Places") and the main place of worship of the eighteenth dynasty Theban Triad with the god Amun as its head. It is part of the monumental city of Thebes. The Karnak complex gives its name to the nearby, and partly surrounded, modern village of El-Karnak, 2.5 kilometres (1.6 miles) north of Luxor.

Great experience in Luxor

We had a wonderful, and packed, day tour of the main sights in Luxor with Taia. The guide was knowledgeable and friendly, making sure to give us the main information at the start of the tour and then giving us sufficient time to explore on our own. The driver, whose name I regretfully didn't catch, was great as well. I would highly recommend booking a tour with Emo Tours (I booked via Viator).

The best trip in Egypt!

We had an incredible experience on our Luxor trip, and we can’t say enough good things about our guide, Sam. 5 star review, if I can give 10 star I will that how good he is! He is extremely knowledgeable and truly knows what he’s talking about. Every place we visited, from the temples to the tombs, came to life because of the way he explained the history, culture, and stories behind them. Sam has such a rich understanding of Egyptian history, and he shares it in a way that’s both interesting and easy to follow. He’s also very engaging, patient, and fun to talk to, which made the whole day even better. We learned so much and enjoyed every moment of the tour. If you’re visiting Luxor, we highly recommend Sam—he made the experience unforgettable!

West Bank Tour and Alabaster Shop

Visited Sakhmat’s shop. Very honest and easy to deal with. Good price, but takes some haggling, like everywhere in Egypt. Overall a very pleasant experience

Amazing tour of Luxor sites

We had a wonderd and very informative tour of Luxor with Mahmoud Oraby. He was very helpful explaining both the big picture and the details of everything from the Valley of the kings to the east bank temples. Never rushed us and really felt like a friend was touring around.
