Itinerary
Visit the village of Lucerne, capital of central Switzerland. Enjoy a free day at your convenience exploring the Old town and snap a picture of the famous chapel bridge or the Lion monument.
Pass by: The Lion Monument is a proud landmark of the city of Lucerne and a popular attraction. The “Lion of Lucerne” lies in his lair in one of the idyllic parks in the centre of the city.
Pass by: Lured to Lucerne by the wealthy Ludwig Pfyffer von Altishofen, the Jesuits brought the Counter Reformation to Lucerne in the 17th century; the elaborate Jesuitenkirche, dedicated to Francis Xavier, was constructed in 1666. Architects from Italy and Austria built what many believe to be the most beautiful Baroque church in Switzerland.
Pass by: Lucerne's landmark is considered to be Europe's oldest covered bridge. It was built in the 14th century and was originally a part of the city fortifications. The pictorial panels, which were incorporated in the 17th century, contain scenes of Swiss history as well as the Lucerne's history.
Pass by: The Water Tower, Chapel Bridge and Musegg Wall dominate the historical skyline of the city of Lucerne. However, the best view of the lake basin can be enjoyed from the path that runs along the Musegg Wall.

This tour literally is on your own. We were in a small bus but we were the only 2 persons who spent the day in Lucerne. Everyone else went to another location. They were very good at coordinating a time to pick us up at the end of the day. However, we were not given a map or any other suggestions of what to do. It did rain the entire day which made seeing anything difficult. The hour cruise was a nice break from the rain but overall I cannot recommend how this tour is handled.
Great trip to Lucerne
Very comfortable ride in a clean coach to Lucerne. Drop off in a convenient place to see the highlights of the city. Tony is a friendly and helpful driver who gave us lots of information. He went above and beyond to assist us when one of our group was injured. Highly recommend this tour. Thank you Tony!!
