Itinerary
The Phra Prang Sam Yot was built when Lopburi was under the control of the Khmer empire from Angkor. The monument was likely founded in the late 12th or early 13th century. Phra Prang Sam Yot is Lopburi’s best known landmark and one of its oldest. It is one of several monuments that date back to the Khmer era. The monument in the center of Lopburi town is perhaps best known for the large number of monkeys that run around free, constantly on the lookout for food. NOTE 1: Entrance fee of THB 80 per person is not included and has to be paid cash. NOTE 2: There are still monkeys around Phra Prang Sam Yot in Lopburi, but fewer than in the past. Many were relocated by authorities due to overpopulation. Please note that Lopburi is not a zoo; the monkeys are wild and roam freely, so sightings cannot be guaranteed. The total duration includes traveling time from Ayutthaya to Lopburi.

Ask for Surina as tour guide!
Our trip to the Ayutthaya Historical Park and the Monkey Temple was easily the highlight of our time in Thailand, and that is entirely thanks to our incredible guide, Surina from Wondersiam. From the moment we met, Surina’s energy was infectious. She isn't just a guide who recites dates and facts; she is a storyteller who brings the history of the ancient Siamese capital to life with genuine passion. Her knowledge of the ruins is profound, but what truly stands out is her character. Surina is a remarkably strong, inspiring woman. She made us feel completely taken care of. She has this powerful presence that ensures everything runs smoothly, yet she is incredibly warm and attentive to every member of the group. If you are looking for a tour that offers more than just a surface-level look at Thailand’s history, ask for Surina. She is a powerhouse of a person and an absolute credit to the Wondersiam team. We left Ayutthaya not just with great photos, but with a deep respect for the culture and the wonderful woman who shared it with us. Highly recommended!
100% Do It
Amazing Experience! Both Serena and the driver were incredible. This is the best trip we have taken in Thailand. I felt like Serena took extra care of us. Making sure we went to the restroom, we were fed, got us water and extra umbrellas. She took a ton of pictures of us to ensure we remembered this amazing trip and treated us like family. I cannot recommend them enough! They were the most genuine and sweetest people ever and very knowledgeable about the history of each place we stopped at! It is 100% worth the money.
Great experience!!
Surina V was awesome, I learned so much and she was so passionate about the information and about making sure everyone had a great experience. Go with her and you will for sure see monkeys and have an epic adventure!
