On the way, we will stop off at Ba Ria to pick up your travel permit for historical battlefields. Continuing to the Long Tan cross, a memorial raised by the Australians in August 1969 in memory of the great battle of Long Tan, fought by the Australians and the Viet Cong in 1966, and onwards to the Horseshoe base, you get magnificent up close feel of the chaotic times during the war and the effect it had on the surroundings. Afterward, we will take you to the Long Phuoc Tunnels where you will get a glimpse into the primitive-looking, yet highly-developed guerilla tactics, used by the Viet Cong to fight off their enemies. After enjoying lunch, which is included in this trip, we will visit the Nui Dat, SAS Hill, another Australian base before heading back to Ho Chi Minh City. Private tour Long Tan Nui Dat Battlefield Tour from Ho Chi Minh City

The most rewarding tour I've ever been on. Our 1st stop was an orphanage in Ba Rai, the staff are so amazing looking after about 30 children, they were so happy enjoying bags of soccer ball and hoola hoops we took as gifts. The Long Tan memorial was made special by our guide Yen from Viator. His knowledge of the Vietnam war was incredible and played the national anthem so we could pay our respect.

Good day out - Nu Dat and Long Tan

We had a great day out with our guide and river. Visited several important sites including Nui Dat, Long Tan and The Horseshoe. The guide and driver were polite and careful. The guide was very knowledgable and provided additional background information on the events and activiies at each site. Very happy with our private tour and would recomend to others.

Very informative.

Yen was our guide for the day and was very helpful throughout the tour. He was very knowledgeable about the area and its history. A highlight of the tour was visiting the orphanage and being able to bring the children some milk, food and some candy.. we really enjoyed the tour and would recommend it to anybody who is interested in Vietnam's history. Thankyou Yen.

Absolutely brilliant tour. No time...

Absolutely brilliant tour. No time wasting with souvenir shops. Our guide was very informative and was able to show pictures from during the war and current day so you could visualise where everyone was. Our guide even had the forethought to pickup flowers for us to lay at Long Tan Cross.
