Itinerary
Pass by: You'll be met at your hotel by your private guide and head to the base of Corcovado Mountain by car, passing by Rio's beaches and the Rodrigo de Freitas Lagoon on the way.
Reaching the Cosme Velho district, you'll take a unique Swiss cogwheel train that climbs the mountain from its base to nearly the summit. The very top is reached by climbing a flight of stairs to arrive at the iconic Christ the Redeemer Statue. The view, from this vantage point, with the surrounding Tijuca National Forest spreading below and a circle of mountains closing the horizon at the very back of the Guanabara bay is truly spectacular. After some time to walk around and take photos, we make the way back down.
We then head towards to the bohemian Santa Teresa neighborhood, home to a collection of local boutiques and galleries. The charming area of Santa Teresa also features many trendy bars and restaurants offering several options of snacks and dishes, not to mention its breathtaking views. Don’t miss out on it!
From Santa Teresa to Lapa, there is the famous Selaron steps, a stairway decorated with colorful tiles. Known for its energetic bohemian vibe, “Lapa” is the most buzzing area in town day and nighttime.
We then walk through Rio’s downtown through some of the coolest touristic areas catching sights and culture until Mauá square. The walk passes by historic attractions, lots of bars and restaurants, arriving at Mauá square where all tribes and people get together.
Mauá square combines beauty, security, style and a lot of culture to breathe while admire the splendor of the “Tomorrow Museum” . Get historical information, but in a fun way you never experienced somewhere else!
We will then go up the Sugarloaf Mountain. A series of two cable cars will take you to the top of Sugar Loaf. At the top, again some of the most breathtaking views of Rio, this time from a different vantage point than at Corcovado. After that, tourists may want to enjoy lunch at a very nice “all-you-can-eat buffet” steakhouse restaurant (not included).
Pass by: The most important Brazilian football temple. Stage of important Brazilian football facts and events like the 1950 and 2014 football World-cup and the thousandth scored goal of king's football Pelé, in 1969. After that, tourists may want to enjoy lunch at a very nice “all-you-can-eat buffet” steakhouse restaurant (not included).
Pass by: Beach that inspired the composition of the famous song "Ipanema Girl”. Beautiful beach that deserves all the fame and admiration.
Pass by: We are also going to pass by several points of interest along the way, including Copacabana and Ipanema beaches, Maracanã Stadium (outside), and other sights. After your excursion you'll be taken back to your hotel and dropped off, where you'll have the afternoon free.

Love the private tour as...
Love the private tour as it allowed us to spend the amount of time we would like on each stop. In addition, David our tour guide was amazing in navigating our tour with interesting facts about Rio and Brazil.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ LGBTQ Rio Tour – Outstanding Experience!
This tour was far better than I even expected! David did an amazing job from start to finish. His knowledge of Rio’s LGBTQ history was impressive, and he explained everything in a way that was engaging, clear, and genuinely meaningful. What really stood out was how accommodating he was throughout the entire tour—super attentive, patient with questions, and always making sure everyone felt included and comfortable. You can tell he truly cares about the experience and represents the community with pride. I highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Rio, LGBTQ or not. It’s informative, fun, and an eye-opening look at the city’s culture. David made it unforgettable! 🌈🇧🇷
Fantastic tour with Sergio
Our guide Sergio was more than fantastic. He was punctual, attentive, spoke very good English and very personable. He texted us via WhatsApp the day before the tour to confirm the time and pick-up. Along the tour he kept us informed of the history behind the sights we were about to visit and various other nuggets of information about the city. Be sure to request for Sergio if you want a seamless LGBTQIA+-friendly private tour of the beautiful city of Rio.
Nelson G.
David, my guide, was wonderful. He went above and beyond to make the most of my tour and experience to another level. He was mindful of my needs as LGBTQ person. He was also mindful of my health needs and helping me with getting in and out of cars , going up and down the stairs. He has years of being a tour guide and knows about history . Excellent . Will book again
Thanks to our guide, Sergio. We had a great time!
Sergio, our guide, took us to different sightseeing spots in Rio in his car. He was so well versed in many ways and helped us learn the history and culture of Rio de Janeiro. Knowing that we were a gay couple, he was also very culturally/LGBTQIA+ sensitive and ensured that we were comfortable throughout the tour, which we highly appreciated. We highly recommend this tour to any visiting LGBTQIA+ individuals and couples coming to Rio for the first time.
