On this Outlander tour we visit Lallybroch , ancestral home of Jamie Fraser . Real life Midhope Castle was built in the 15th Century and was built by John Martyne, laird of Medhope. It was rebuilt in the mid 1600s and remains much the same today. No-one has lived in the castle for over 100 years . Culross is Scotland’s most complete example of a burgh of the 17th and 18th centuries. Mercat Cross (in the centre of Culross) acted as the centre of Cranesmuir. Geillis Duncan’s house and the town square where Geillis is sentenced to burn for being a witch. Jamie and Claire rescue the thief, Tammas, when his ear is pinned to the post.
