Great fun white water rafting

The driver - Bill - stayed with us all day and was really helpful and explained a great deal about rural Thai life. The 1.5hr drive took us through lots of rubber and palm oil plantations - which were really interesting to see. We did the zip wire across a lake filled with huge carp. The 15 tethered gym mats acting as a bridge were harder to cross than any zip wire. The rafting was exceptional fun. It was really invigorating and exciting. The tow men on our boat worked really hard to keep us safe but make it thrilling. The water was challenging with many drops and whirl pools. We only had to hold on we didn’t steer - but it was still really fun. The ru er was heaving! We then walked to the waterfall which was beautiful jungle but calling it a waterfall was a bit of an exaggeration!

Terrible

No direction to what we were doing, we didn't know this was only a "part of" a tour and not a full tour itself as there are no options to choose. The first stop was elephant riding which is pretty unethical but wasn't included with this TripAdvisor booking so we waited 2 hours at a table while another group did the elephant riding and atv. While rafting there was not really safety precautions but it wasn't the end of the world as my partner and I have rafted before in Chiang Mai and it was amazing. However this one there were no precautions and they tried to get us on the 5km length when our tour clearly states 7km which we paid for and we had to show our booking and push for it (because we paid for it). While rafting staff was splashing the water in peoples faces with the paddles which I guess it's supposed to be all fun and games but not when it gets into your eyes/mouth and your partner gets gastro and ends up being sick throwing up with diarrhoed for the next week of the holiday having to cancel other tours. Overall terrible the raft track was fun however quite dangerous as they stated 5 people fall off the raft every tour/(not day) and a guy had fallen off during our session and almost drowned with cuts all over. And no one could help him. Overall not safe and not structured and a waste of a full day as they have you sat around doing nothing. And the food was not good coming from someone who is Thai.

Mixed feelings

First of all, it is super fun and exiting! Its definitely a must do!! The guys leading the raft are mega funny and make the most of this adventure along with the other people!! You either get wet or very soggy!! Extremely fun and enjoyable! On the downside, coordinators seem to be in a rush making them acting a bit rude, or at least thats the impression you get. The food is really good, thumbs up to the kitchen staff! Heads up…. To get in the temple, you need to wear something covering shoulders and legs (women)…. Otherwise you have to pay extra 20 bath to get in. The waterfall and the ATB are not worth, please do not promote elephant riding!! Poor elephants are chained! Paying for it only makes it worse!! Also, bring cash!! A beer is about 100 bks, and paying with card adds 5% Other than that, book it!!

Very badly organised

White water rafting & waterfall 18/01/25 start time 9.00am on my paperwork. Advertised as an 8 hr trip actually takes 10.5 hrs. Driver picked us up on time, we went to next pick up and he walked around aimlessly for 40 mins looking for two people, paper work clearly says only wait 10 mins, this was not only frustrating but he never communicated once. This was very poor organisation and the frustration was clear amongst all the guests who were ready on time, it was not clear who was at fault as neither party offered an apology. We eventually arrived at 10.45!!!! So clearly the 9.00am start time was unrealistic. Water rafting was amazing but once we finished we had to wait 2 hours for other people in our transfer bus to do other activities (ATV), this is unacceptable and ruined our evening plans, this transfer should of been for people doing the same activities. What could and should have been a great trip was ruined by bad organisation, I have always found Viator to be very professional but sadly not on this occasion. P.S. the Elephant rides at the ATVs was very sad to see, the Elephants were clearly distressed, moving their heads side to side, we did an ethical one elsewhere just feeding and walking with Elephants so much more enjoyable.

great!

great experiences, would benefit from clear timing or structure, but you get in the flow of things if you pay attention
