Kona Manta Ray Night Snorkel Adventure

I went on the night manta tour eith my wife and her family. There were a few other groups with us but it still felt like a personable experience. We got to see 3 mantas and had an awesome time. Taco, Koa, and Kekai were amazing tour guides and made the experience safe and memorable. It was a great experience for the price.

This was an absolutely amazing experience. We booked through My Kona Adventures directly while using a Groupon, so we saved hundreds of dollars compared to other companies. Just know that you have to contact the company to ensure open Groupon rate time slots on your date BEFORE you purchase the Groupon, the slots are limited and are only available for the 7:00 and 7:50 tours. Pre tour communication was excellent between emails and text messages. The staff on the tour were fantastic, friendly, and energetic. There is no reason you need to go with a huge company with fancy add ons (like refreshments and snacks) for this excursion. The boat ride is only 5 minutes long and all the companies banded together or near each other so we all went to the same spot anyway. We did rent the wetsuits and I am glad we did. My son and I get cold easily, and even with the warm water that evening, it was very helpful. The provided snorkels and masks were fine, but I wish we had brought our own for comfort sake. Parking is not easy since there are so many companies leaving from the same dock, so give yourself enough time to drive around and find a spot. The instructions say to arrive 30 minutes before the tour or you will be left behind, but a couple of girls arrived 10 minutes before we left and they were fine. I would still get there early though to get a parking spot. You can pay for wetsuits and give tips with Venmo so you don’t have to bring cash. All in all, don’t hesitate to book through this great company, my kids voted this to be the favorite part of their two week vacation.

Awesome experience with Koa, Kekai, Tako crew! There might be mosquitoes when you wait to walk to the boat. So maybe spray beforehand! But definitely recommend this experience!!

Koa, Taco, and an another guy I can’t remember his name were awesome guides! We saw plenty of rays during our experience. 8:40pm seemed to be the best time. Yes, you need to know how to swim but they give you a float that goes around your feet so you have something on you the entire time even swimming to the area. I highly recommend anyone who is looking to see Mantas!

ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE!!! The crew was amazing and the manta views were unbelievable. Everything was so smooth and communication was great. A must on your vacation lineup!
