Khao Sok Cheow Lan Lake Day Tour

This is a physically demanding tour and you need sturdy footwear. First you are collected from your hotel (the driver was in good time for this) and taken to the boat dock from where you will be taken by boat to Khao Sok Cheow. The tour has 6 parts: the initial boat journey, a visit to limestone caves, a trek through the jungle, lunch, optional swimming or kayaking and the boat journey back. You'll need sunscreen, anti-mosquito spray and good, sturdy shoes: I slipped and fell twice on the muddy tracks. The tour also requires a level of physical fitness and if you are uncomfortable with climbing slopes and steps and walking along uneven paths, this activity is not for you.

This was a wonderful experience, the boat ride was beautiful, the cave tour was really cool and even though I am a little scared of caves, the tour guide was very helpful and when steps were a little difficult, he would give a hand and guide you. After lunch, you were given some free time to kayak or swim, so make sure to pack a swim suit and back up dry clothes. Jungle was also very cool and pretty.

This experience in Khao Sok absolutely earned 5 stars. It was one of those days that doesn’t even feel real. The views of the lake and towering limestone cliffs were unreal, something you truly have to see in person to appreciate. Everything was beautifully paced. We explored a cave, had a great guide who made the day smooth and enjoyable, and lunch was actually really good. The timing was perfect too, especially having time to swim after lunch, which was such a highlight. The only thing I would note is that they didn’t emphasize enough how important proper footwear is. Tennis shoes are highly recommended, and I wore slides, which wasn’t ideal. I’d suggest bringing sandals if you want options, but definitely plan to wear sneakers for comfort and safety. Make sure to pack sunscreen and follow the packing list they provide, and you’ll be set for an incredible day. Honestly, one of the most memorable experiences.

This tour is the worst we have experienced from Viator, as we were never picked up at our hotel. We called the phone numbers we were given. One was not in use and the other we called we got talked to a woman who did not quite understand what we meant. She was supposed to call us back, which she never did. We sent chat messages to Viator, which we had received information about waiting time and location. The Negroes NEVER! We stayed at our hotel and realized nothing. Now we are bitter and cursed because this was a pretty expensive trip that we had looked forward to. We don't think we can trust this company anymore. We expect a regret and our money back!

This was one of the best days out in Thailand. I saved this for one of my last day trips because I knew it would have an impact and it did not disappoint. The colors of the lake and the limestone masses and the trees were all breathtaking. Touk Touk was our tour guide and made the day even more enjoyable with his sense of humor and knowledge of the area. The cave was impressive as well. Lunch was quite the spread. I had one of the best dishes I had while in Thailand (Kaeng Tai Pla). I would recommend this tour. Thank you Touk Touk for a great day out!!
