Traveler reviews
Tour of Similan Islands by Speedboat
Beautiful crystal clear blue waters around the Similan Islands. Softest finest sandy beaches found here. Friendly and helpful people around always with smiles and warm greetings. Speedboat ride from pier to the islands took an agonizing 1.5 hours against a strong headwind. Also missed one island stop due to high winds.
Misleading tour name
Islands themselves are stunning however if you wanted to snorkel I'd go somewhere else. As a keen snorkeller, I've seen plenty of reefs & fish, on this tour what I saw wasn't worth getting into the water for quite frankly. This is quite sad & disappointing given it's sold as a snorkelling tou. However if it was sold as an island tour, then any snorkelling worth seeing is a bonus rather than the draw card. It's not a cheap tour either so yes I do feel somewhat cheated
A great experience - but still a lot of tourist traffic in paradise
The tour was very organized. We were picked up punctually at our hotel and brought to the pier. Once there, there was a small breakfast and a safety instruction. Our guides(super nice and funny) were just fantastic and always endeavored for our wellbeing. It was explained again on site the course of the tour and then it was already going on. The ride with the speedboat (modern and top in shot) went by in a flash, whereby one should not underestimate the waves and the swings. If you are slightly seasick, you should take a travel tablet (available on site). Arrived on the first island, paradise revealed itself par excellence. Crystal blue water, snow-white sand. We were there relatively early, so not many other boats were there yet. Later a lot of Chinese people on the spot. : - | The lunch and the snorkel stops were good. Absolute recommendation !!!
Wow. What a wonderful day on this trip.
The staff were all very helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. If you get up early and go on this trip, you miss the crowds a little bit, so it gets very busy. While the snorkeling was great at 20 metres, I have never seen such amazing blue-green water and visibility. We also saw a wide range of fish! After reading a not-so-good review about her, I wasn't sure about this trip, but this trip was very, very good so don't postpone it! They have no control over the ocean, so if you get sick while travelling, try sitting in the back of the boat. But no one had a problem with our trip. There was enough equipment to go around for everyone and the food was simple but delicious. The staff were really competent and fun and kept us safe at all times. I thoroughly recommend this trip!!
