10/10 day on K’gari!

Amazing experience! Very well scheduled itinerary and great atmosphere on the trip. Our guide and driver John was not only incredibly funny but also delivered great commentary and was a fountain of knowledge about the island. Swimming in Lake Mackenzie was the highlight! We saw both whales, dingos and eagles on the drive. Even though you spend a lot of time driving to the different stops the drive is beautiful and just as big as an experience as the stops. John also made the drive comfortable by mentioning when the roads would be bumpy. Would highly recommend booking this one day trip!

A beautiful place worth preserving

We had a great day on K’gari. Our guide Pete was laid back and friendly and made us feel welcome and included. He gave us plenty of interesting facts about the island and talked about the importance of this place to the traditional owners of the land. Lake McKenzie was just stunning and the walk on the boardwalk through the rainforest at Wanggoolba Creek was another highlight. We had a beautiful lunch at K’gari Resort and the drive up the beach spotting wildlife like huge Sea Eagles, dingoes and a few whales was great. A spur of the moment decision to take a flight over the island was a true highlight for me. All in all a great day out. Thanks again to our wonderful guide Pete.

Don't Miss This Tour – Worth Every Minute! - Spoiler alert!

I really enjoyed this tour and, even though I'm only 13, it was one of the highlights of my trip. The only thing to be aware of is that the ride can be quite bumpy, so if you get motion sickness easily, keep that in mind. Personally, I thought it made the tour even more exciting! Our tour Guide with Steve and Mike and they were absolutely incredible. They were so funny and you could tell they love their job. It was quite enjoyable and they explained everything in a really incredible way which is really great for everybody and it included interesting stories that were quite entertaining about the place we were in. It was also great for families. We had people of all ages, with the youngest being 7, and everyone had an amazing time. I'd recommend bringing a floaty or inflatable tube, as one of the rivers is perfect for relaxing and floating along. If it's available, I'd also suggest paying extra for the optional helicopter ride—it was definitely worth it for the incredible views. Don't forget a camera or make sure your phone is charged because there are so many great photo opportunities. Overall, I'd highly recommend this tour!
