Kenai Fjords & Resurrection Bay Cruise

We took the Alaska Rail train down from Anchorage in the morning and went back to Anchorage on the same day. Big mistake; way too tiring, was not the tour operator’s fault. In addition, we were coming off an eight day cruise of Southeast Alaska and had been on four other whale watching excursions. We went on this excursion because of perceived idea that it was high quality and we were not disappointed. We would, however, have stayed overnight in Seward and taken the full day tour. People coming off the boat from the full day tour reported seeing many whales close up and we did not see any. We did not go as far out in the ocean as the full day tour. Lunch was a delicious and hot enchilada with water served; beverages are available. They made hot chocolate chip cookies in the afternoon for everybody as the rain began. The narrator gave really good information as well as historical information about Seward and the area. We learned a lot. We saw tons of wildlife on the ship as well as on the rail coming down to Seward. We loved this day and it was one of our best in years of travel.

We had an amazing experience with Major Marine Tours. All the crew members were super helpful, friendly, and very knowledgeable throughout the tour. We were lucky enough to see incredible wildlife in real life — from killer whales to black bears — and the entire crew was actively helping everyone spot them and making sure we didn’t miss anything. The staff truly cared about making the experience memorable for everyone. My family had a wonderful time, and this was easily one of the highlights of our Alaska trip. I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Alaska

The views were spectacular. The vessel was in fantastic condition, drove smoothly, and was clean throughout. The captain handled the vessel expertly, gave insights throughout the cruise, and took time to allow passengers to take pictures while maintaining the arrival time. The deck staff were helpful and incredibly friendly. I highly recommend this cruise.

This was one of the highlights of our Alaska cruise and land trip. We got to see a few hump bank whales, or at least their tails and can see them breathing. We also got to see porpoises, other wonderful wildlife and stopped by an area that I’ve seen on my screensaver. The captain has very keen eyes, the sound system was good, and the captain spoke eloquently so we could really understand the narration. We didn’t get seasick. It was thoroughly enjoyable.
