Traveler reviews
Definitely do the whale watching!! Be wary of the combo tickets if your whale watching trip starts after 1:30
I gave it 5 stars BUT only for the whale watching part. The crew on the boat was fantastic and we saw lots of whales!!! 5 stars all day long!! The Mendenhall Glacier part is not great if your whale watching is later in the day. By the time you get to the glacier, the visitor center is closed and you don’t have enough time to do the hike to Nugget Falls before you have to be back to meet the bus. So essentially you need about 1/2 hour at the glacier at the most if you can’t go to the visitor center or do the hike. They won’t take you back to town early…so you just have to sit there with the mosquitoes for an hour and wait for when the bus is ready to leave. It’s kind of ridiculous, since they know you are on a time schedule to get back to the ship. Plus Viator said if your excursion is in the afternoon….you go to the glacier first and then whale watching, but that is not true. It’s always whale watching first. They shouldn’t sell a combo ticket after lunch time probably because there’s not enough time to do both.
Absolutely the best...
Absolutely the best excursion we have had on this cruise. Captain Conner, Haley and Emily were incredible. They were extremely knowledgeable and professional. I absolutely would book with Juneau Tours again. Not only that, but Emily gave us a place to go eat. The best fish tacos we have ever eaten. Just a fantastic experience.

We saw multiple whales and sea dogs. Wonderful experience! The entire crew was knowledgeable and very friendly. Would 100% recommend!
Many whales
The sea was boiling with whales. We have gone whale watching several times in several locations and we saw the most whales on this trip. Captain Dustin and crew Haylee and Jude shared many years of experience and education and were top notch. It was as a lucky day for us. The rain stopped, the sun came out, and there were many whales. The Mendenhall Glacier portion and the walk to Nugget Falls were enjoyable.

This excursion was the highlight of our Alaska trip. We were happy we were able to combine whale watching and the Mendenhall glacier. The timing was perfect and the staff whale watching provided education and made the trip exciting!
