Take a tour through Itaipu Dam built between two countries, Brazil and Paraguay. A perfect entertaining trip that teaches you all about it, with ideal conditions for pictures and filming. Make stops for great views all along and by the reservoir. Itaipu is a true marvel, the largest in the world in electricity generation responsible for almost 20% of Brazil’s electricity consumption and more than 90% of Paraguay’s. It’s a gigantic in all senses being one of the seven engineering wonders of the modern world. Construction of the dam consumed enough concrete to build 210 football stadiums. The iron and steel used was enough to construct 380 towers like the Eiffel Tower in Paris. The double-decker bus tour is operated by Itaipu in a shared manner together with other unknown tourists.

Interesting contrast between nature and human accomplishments.
Our guide provided us with the opportunity to redo the biological refuge portion of the trip due to the heavy rain. She was very informative about the things we saw and local history. The dam is awesome to see.
