We packed in great food and tour in 1 day. It was Great! Visit the food market.delish!

It was very hot mid August. Luckily Madrid has public water fountains. No joke!- you need more than a hat. Must have a hand fan and an umbrella will save you! We had to wait in the direct 3 pm sun for 40 min to get the guide issue figured out for the Royal Palace. We had all of those things and were still overwhelmed with the heat. Don’t be a stubborn Texan and think you can handle it, like the folks on our walking tour. IT WAS HOT! The Royal Palace was made that much more interesting by our colourful guide, young lad about 23 years old. He is historically knowledgeable, encouraged interactive discussions, witty and a wee-bit naughty…he had everyone chuckling! Madrid was bustling!
