Iceland 6-Day Circle-Island Tour

We had a fantastic six-day experience exploring Iceland. There was so much to see and do, and our guide, John, was truly the key to making the trip so memorable. As a geographer, John gave us the opportunity to see Iceland through his eyes. His incredible knowledge of the country, fascinating stories, positive attitude, and even his choice of music for each region added so much to the experience. He kept us on track while still making sure we had time to take in the incredible landscapes and experiences along the way. John’s passion for Iceland really came through in everything he shared with us. His expertise and enthusiasm turned an already beautiful trip into an unforgettable experience. We couldn’t have asked for a better guide for our journey around Iceland! Bring happiness!

We joined Troll’s 6-day around Iceland summer tour on 20/7. We were in luck to have Siggi as our tour guide who guided us, served us and drove us around Iceland tirelessly throughout the 6 days. We are a family of 4 with 2 young adults. Siggi made the tour enjoyable, unforgettable and filled with joy. All of us loved the tour so much that we didn’t want to come to a halt on the 6th day. For us, Siggi together with what we experienced during the tour (powerful waterfalls, spectacular glacier, witnessing a jumping whale, pretty Icelandic horses, jumping into a cold river at Voks bath, accommodations in a quiet forest and a hill slope with a beautiful golden sunset ….) was completely magical and left us with a beautiful memory of Iceland. Siggi was the key to the success of our tour. Throughout our tour, Siggi was always professional, devoted, funny and enthusiastic in being our guide. Without Siggi’s dedicated contribution, we believe the tour would not have had been so colourful and perfect. Siggi was always on time or waited for us well in advance to help us upload our luggages to the shuttle bus and started/continued our journey every day with smiles/laughters. It seemed that he enjoyed the journey in the same way that we did!! He would recommend and let us have stops to capture various photo-taking opportunities, suggest restaurants for having yummy pizzas, hot dogs, lamb chops … or other meals in towns, sight-seeing spots, etc… , remind us to shop for snacks/meals at appropriate places (including supermarkets) and timing so that we could get food that we wanted. (In Iceland, foods at restaurants are expensive. Be prepared to spend about US$10 for a hotdog, US$15 for a burger, US$35-40 for a pizza… Prices of foods in supermarkets are much economical). Siggi’s recommendations were genuine, reasonable and good and without his suggestions and introduction of the places, we would have missed them. Siggi ran the tour smoothly every day, covering all the sight-seeing spots and giving us ample time to get enough rest at the end of each day. As to the tour itself, we were thrilled to have seen icebergs on Diamond Beach in Jul, a whale who hopped from the sea water for a few times, a beautiful ice cave though it was relatively small (it was Jul and we were lucky to be able to see an ice cave)… Horse riding was for an hour which we wished could be longer. The shuttle bus that Troll used was of good quality. We had about 14 ppl in our group. The full capacity of the shuttle bus was for 18 ppl. So, we had some extra seats which made us feel more spacious. We had some extra space to relax, put out day bags and take-away food in the self above our head. It was good to be in a small tour group. Activities on each day of the tour were ran smoothly. Usually, we were able to be early enough to avoid the crowds from the other tour companies as Siggi was able to control our timing and drove quickly enough to be ahead of the traffic usually. Be prepared to be able to walk quite fast in some of the most popular sight seeing spots to avoid the crowd. Overall, we would highly recommend Troll tour to friends and look forward to joining Troll’s tours again.

Amazing, incredible experience. On the road 12 hours a day, stopping to see waterfalls, fumaroles, black sand beaches, hiking on glacier, going inside ice cave, riding horses, going on a boat for whale watching and seeing icebergs in a lagoon. Haffi, the guide, was probably the best tour guide I've ever had. Very knowledgeable about the natural sights, history and culture, a professional photographer, funny, a pleasure to be with. The group gelled and was fantastic.
