Nighttime tour of the zoo was amazing! 2 small family groups. 2 guides took us on a tour of the zoo after hours answering all our questions and offering insights. Much cooler temperature AND personalized information on the animals we saw and their care. The pace seemed self-paced. We did very little walking as the chauffered golf cart took us from enclosure to enclosure while drank the water and ate the snacks the zoo provided. We also were given opportunities to get out at each enclosure for a closer look and to see different angles of the enclosures. Highly recommend.
Got there right a 8am after a lumberjack slam at Dennts as we were about to walk 5+ miles and boy did we! A great layout and very clean zoo. Lots of restrooms and water stations. Go early beat the heat crowds and see the animals while they are active. Great day.
I’ve been waiting for about two years to do the elephant experience. Back in January of 2026, I was told I would be placed on a waitlist and notified when the experience became available again since it had been sold out for quite some time. Unfortunately, I never received an email or any notification and we are no in August. I’m now finding out that the experience is available again, but the price has doubled from $200 per person to $400 per person. It’s extremely disappointing to have waited this long, been told I would be notified, and then find out on my own that it returned at twice the price. For those traveling from outside of Texas who also have to pay for airfare and a hotel, $400 per person is difficult to justify. There are more affordable animal experiences in places like Florida and the Caribbean where you can interact with multiple animals for considerably less. Unfortunately, at this new price point, I will be looking elsewhere.
