Lovely

Wonderful tour. Great value for services provided. Length of visit was perfect. Atmosphere, good. Crowd size was a bit overwhelming. Not our group but other tours that were there at the same time. Our tour guide was knowledgeable and passionate. Very nice.

Better than exploring on your own

Miguel was wonderful. Very knowledgeable and entertaining. He pointed out unique things to see in the paintings. However 90 minutes was not long enough. We were pretty rushed from painting to painting. Would have enjoyed more of the Prado & Miguel.

Disorganized, chaotic, unprofessional tour agency; completely unacceptable experience, DO NOT BOOK

Don’t book this experience unless you are ok being told the tour is at full capacity and you’re out of luck after you’ve already paid, arrived, and checked in. The tour agency was unresponsive to our tour guide Miguel on the day of the tour. He could not get in touch with his superiors and they provided zero help to him while this situation was unfolding. We checked in with our tour guide 5 minutes before our scheduled tour. We waited 30 minutes while he stood in line to get our group’s tickets. Finally, he came back and told us there was a problem- because the museum was very busy, he could only take 10 of us (there were 12 of us in our group). After arguing for 15 minutes about who should be left out, we finally came up with a plan- we would all be admitted into the museum but two of us would not be able to get audio headsets. We were chosen rather unfairly as the unlucky pair to not receive headsets. (His other idea was to see if we could join a later group, but he could give us no guarantees that there’d be room available at the later time; he couldn’t get in touch with anyone from his agency over the phone. This was an unacceptable option because it risked us wasting even more of our time with no guaranteed entry.) We finally started the tour portion an hour late. We tried standing close to our tour guide while he talked about the art pieces but quickly discovered that this would be impossible given how loud the museum is and how softly he was speaking into his microphone. We decided to leave the group and do a self guided tour at that point. Had we known this would be our experience, we would have visited the museum after 7pm when it’s free anyways and just done a self guided tour then. We paid for a professional to show us around in the English language and didn’t receive it. We still haven’t gotten our refund back from the tour agency. Spend your money elsewhere.

A good guided tour of the Prado museum

I especially liked the selection of the works and the common thread of the guided tour. Expert guide and good communicator

An experience to repeat

A wonderful visit, our guide Juan Antonio was very friendly and approachable, making the visit very enjoyable and it felt very short to us; it is clear that he enjoys what he does and knows how to convey it in a very pleasant way, and he demonstrates his knowledge.
