Great trip even with the rain and clouds …
You travel for about 30 mins by mini bus ( seats for all ) and Mario our guide was great, giving lots of details on the way. The drive up Vesuvius is a bit heart racing but the driver was very experienced. It was sunny when we left but when we arrived at the car park it was cold and wet so take back up clothes and don’t just wear shorts!! The walk up is about thirty minutes and is very steep. Again our guide was amazing and gave lots of talks along the way and at the craters edge. We got a glimpse of the crater before the cloud descended … although no view it was still worth the hike for me … great trip but take warm clothes and a rain coat in case ( too windy for umbrellas)…. Shout out to Mario from Askos tours… he was great …
Hiking up Vesuvius
Booked the 3hr tour to the summit of mount vesuvius guided by Mario. Lots of excellent information provided by Mario on the journey there and back, and he also ensured our group of nine enjoyed the hike up and down together. Thoroughly enjoyed the hike and the views, well worth a visit

Great mountain, great experience, great guide
Gennaro expertly drove us from Pompeii Scavi to Mount Vesuvio and back. Mario was our knowledgeable guide to all matters volcanic and more. Beautiful views, interesting facts and super nice guide - five stars!!!
Our Guide Mario was amazing
Mario is an amazing guide. He is knowledgeable and friendly. He pointed out several geological features we would have missed by ourselves and explained the history of previous eruptions.
