Guided City Walking Tour

Our driver was a real champ. The rendezvous was well coordinated, he provided us with insights into the various attractions, where to sit for the best sunset view, and a true gentleman. He even scared away some monkeys that were shadowing us. As for the fire show itself, it's a complete bust unless you enjoy local interpretative dance. It is not a Polynesian-type fire show as one would see in Hawaii. The "fire" in the fire show is primary a large candelabra with 7 flames burning during most of the dance. It is followed by an actor kicking piles of hay ignited with gasoline towards the audience and exit. Not a safe environment. Quite a number of the audience started departing after 20 minutes.

The slogan of the company of “leave as friends” felt very true with our guide Widu. He smoothly guided us through the crowded temple grounds and helped us make informed decisions about how to spend our time, even suggesting the lovely tea/coffee tasting as we had free time before our tour began (Luwak coffee is surprisingly good!). We hope to see Widu again during our time in Bali!
