Wonderful day

The tour is super entertaining, all the stops made were excellent. The service at La Manuela was great and the guide Daniel helped us prepare and see everything. Daniel organized everything very well with the time and meeting places. The driver Pedro was also good, he drove very carefully and without any problems or scares. I recommend this tour and the guide to anyone who is visiting Medellín.

A natural gem that deserves more respect

Visiting Piedra del Peñol is certainly something magical. This natural formation is imposing, almost spiritual, and has a presence that overwhelms from the first moment. However, the experience is deeply affected by the way the place has been commercially exploited. Access to climb the stone costs $35,000 per person, and even the use of the bathrooms is charged, which already generates some discomfort. But beyond the cost, what really disappoints is the immediate environment. At the foot of a natural wonder of this magnitude, a messy and visually aggressive shopping area has developed, which completely breaks with the magic of the place. Instead of integrating with the landscape or respecting the local identity, an improvised aesthetic has been chosen that does not do justice to the beauty of the region. It’s especially sad considering that Paisa (antioquian) architecture is rich, warm and full of character. Here was a unique opportunity to create something harmonious, authentic and respectful... and it was lost. The stone is still extraordinary. But the experience, unfortunately, is marked by a sense of neglect and lack of sensitivity to a place that deserves much more respect.
