Enjoy drinks like refreshing Alhambra beer, vermouth, and Andalusian wine along the way. As you stroll the picturesque Albaicín district, your guide shares the stories and traditions behind every bite. The experience is crowned with a ‘Secret Dish’—a surprise finale that Granadinos adore. Unforgettable flavors, fascinating history, and authentic tapas culture come alive on this must-do Granada food tour.
Granada is a city where two worlds meet at the table, and this food tour lets you taste exactly how that happened. For nearly eight centuries this was the last stronghold of Al-Andalus, and when the Christian kingdoms arrived in 1492, the Moorish and Christian cities did not simply replace one another. They blended, and you can still taste the result today.Your tour begins at the Aguador Monument in Plaza de la Romanilla, right beside Granada Cathedral, with a Pionono, the small syrup-soaked pastry crowned with toasted cream that locals have loved for generations. From there, your guide leads you past the Cathedral, built on the site of the city’s great mosque, and into the Alcaicería, the old Nasrid silk market whose narrow lanes still feel like a souk.Along the way you’ll enjoy 8+ tastings. Sip vermouth alongside thin slices of Alpujarra ham, cured in the cold mountain air of the Sierra Nevada. Cool down with Salmorejo, a chilled cream of tomato, bread and olive oil, paired with an Alhambra beer. Then settle in for Rabo de Toro, oxtail slow-cooked in red wine, with a glass of Andalusian red. In Granada a tapa still arrives with your drink, so expect more bites between stops, and morning tours add a Bacalao frittata too.As you head into the lower Albaicín, the whitewashed Moorish quarter facing the Alhambra, your guide shares the stories of the people, recipes and traditions behind each plate. Secret Food Tours guides are locals who know where Granadinos actually eat, and they’ll show you a side of the city most visitors walk straight past. And then there’s the Secret Dish. We won’t say what it is, only that it’s worth the wait
