Full description

Your journey begins with a visit to the mesmerizing Kerið Volcanic Crater, a site renowned for its dramatic color contrasts of maroon mineral sediment, dark lava rocks, and the serene blue waters of the lake. You can stroll along the crater rim or descend to the bottom for a closer view, especially enchanting when the lake freezes over in winter. Next, you will witness the power of nature at the magnificent Gullfoss Waterfall, a breathtaking cascade originating from Iceland’s second-largest glacier, Langjökull. Continuing, the tour takes you to the Geysir Geothermal Area, home to the active Strokkur Geyser that erupts every few minutes, sending water 20 meters skyward. The area’s bubbling hot springs and steamy muddy fields add to the otherworldly atmosphere. Conclude your adventure at the historic Thingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site where you can delve into Iceland's rich Viking history. The park's unique geological features and cultural significance make it a must-visit destination.

Overall the experience was good. Our guide was great, knowledgable and we went to beautiful places. These are mostly personal preferences that I would’ve liked to know- there would be nothing to eat until almost 3pm. At each stop we had 3-4 very small tastings of wine- for an entire day trip a little more wine would’ve been appreciated. The bus was too tight and uncomfortable for our group. There were words exchanged between people who (understandably!) didn’t want to sit in the back.
