Itinerary
Travel through winding back roads and discover a 4,000-year-old cemetery.
A sad place to visit. It’s the location of a tragic Outlander scene, and a catastrophic battle between Jacobites and Government troops. It was here that a 60-year series of uprisings finally ended in a tumultuous battle. You can explore the visitor centre* and pay tribute to those who lost their lives at the last ever battle fought on British soil.
You ramble along to Glen Affric and stop off for walks amongst the indigenous Caledonian pine trees. You get the chance to enjoy views over Loch Affric and the mountains beyond, and your driver-guide ensures you go to the best waterfalls and photo spots throughout the afternoon.
Visit this tucked away priory and learn about the monks of the Highlands. Explore the historic ruins where 13th-century French monks called this religious site 'beau lieu', which means 'beautiful place'.

Traveler reviews
Excellent tour
Our guide, Charles, told us several interesting stories about Scotland. The tour was a lot of fun. The scenery is stunning.
History and sites
Had a fantastic time on this tour learning and the history of each place visited. Our guide was attentive to everyone on board and ensured we all had a good day. Stand out was the battlefield of Culloden, its incredible how emotional the site still feels this many years after the battle. This was an incredible way to get out and see the sites
We visited Clara Cairns,...
We visited Clara Cairns, Culloden and Glen Affric. All were wonderful but our visit to Culloden Battlefield was my favorite. The exhibition is first rate but walking that battlefield was so impactful. Our guide, Mick, was very knowledgeable and answered all my questions. This excursion has been my favorite so far!
Northern Scotland Tour
Emilie gave us a fun informative tour of the Scotland countryside, Culloden, Buely, Glenn Afric and even fit in a stop to Loch Ness on the way back.
This was a great...
This was a great experience. The group was small and Mick the driver was excellent. Very knowledgeable about not only the sites but Scottish history in general. He commented on many things on the way to the sites and answered many questions with a lot of details. Culloden museum was very interesting showing both sides of the conflict, the battlefield itself is just a plain battered by the wind so hang on to your hats. Nice break in the day for lunch in a local place in Beauly and then Glen Affric. Vistas are breathtaking. A great day spent both inside and outside.
