The only completely preserved portrait of the king is a three-inch high ivory figurine found in a temple ruin of a later period at Abydos in 1903. All other reliefs and statues were found in fragments, and many buildings of Khufu are lost. Everything known about Khufu comes from inscriptions in his necropolis at Giza and later documents. For example, Khufu is the main character noted in the Westcar Papyrus from the 13th dynasty.
Khafre's pyramid complex consists of a valley temple, the Sphinx temple, a causeway, a mortuary temple and the king's pyramid. The valley temple yielded several statues of Khafre. Several were found in a well in the floor of the temple by Mariette in 1860. Others were found during successive excavations by Sieglin (1909–10), Junker, Reisner,
Menkaure's pyramid complex consists of a valley temple, a causeway, a mortuary temple, and the king's pyramid. The valley temple once contained several statues of Menkaure. Traveler reviews
Breathtaking.
Aladdin was professional, friendly, well-informed, and attentive to my requests. It was a pleasant and memorable experience.
Pyramids Giza and river Nile cruise.
Our taxi and guide picked us up from our hotel at 9.00am. Our guide Imaan was very kind helpful and knowledgeable. She was very young and asked us if we wanted to go to the Nile in the evening. She managed to book us a private boat the same evening at short notice for a discounted price. We wanted her at the river boat and she came at our request again. Will recommend her for 5 star service.
Great tour guide made it...
Great tour guide made it fun and wasn’t bothered by the vendors ! Great price too ! I would recommend.
Great half day trip
A great day out with Ahmed and our driver. We were told great info, what to do and see and also stopped for a juice in the heat.
Did not take us inside the pyramid
It was okey, I wish the guide knew more about the history. We wanted to go in to the pyramids but the guide said no. They also take you to local shop to shop that was not mentioned in the description.
