The Giza Plateau (Arabic: هضبة الجيزة) is a plateau in Giza, on the outskirts of Cairo, Egypt, site of the Fourth Dynasty Giza Necropolis, which includes the Great Pyramids of Khufu, Khafre and Menkaure, the Sphinx, several cemeteries, a workers' village and an industrial complex.
The only completely preserved portrait of the king is a three-inch high ivory figurine found in a temple ruin of a later period at Abydos in 1903. All other reliefs and statues were found in fragments, and many buildings of Khufu are lost. Everything known about Khufu comes from inscriptions in his necropolis at Giza and later documents. For example, Khufu is the main character noted in the Westcar Papyrus from the 13th dynasty.
Khafre's pyramid complex consists of a valley temple, the Sphinx temple, a causeway, a mortuary temple and the king's pyramid. The valley temple yielded several statues of Khafre. Several were found in a well in the floor of the temple by Mariette in 1860. Others were found during successive excavations by Sieglin (1909–10), Junker, Reisner,
Menkaure's pyramid complex consists of a valley temple, a causeway, a mortuary temple, and the king's pyramid. The valley temple once contained several statues of Menkaure. During the 5th Dynasty, a smaller ante-temple was added on to the valley temple. The mortuary temple also yielded several statues of Menkaure.
The Sphinx dates from the reign of king Khafre. During the New Kingdom, Amenhotep II dedicated a new temple to Hauron-Haremakhet and this structure was added onto by later rulers.

Traveler reviews
Good tour
Communication around the booking worked well, we were picked up on time. The car was new and well maintained, the driver Tamer drove excellently: fast, but not hectic, safe. We had no better driver during our numerous trips. The guide Hosam had excellent knowledge of culture and pyramids/sphinx, was very cultured, spoke fluent German and was always available for questions and support. He had good tips for photos or going to the pyramids. The ride with the ATV/Quads is certainly not for everyone. You drive at a crazy speed through the desert, without a helmet, prefer not to think about it. In a fall, you definitely have it over with. Be sure to take cloth/mask/glasses against the dust. We felt comfortable and well looked after and can recommend the tour.
The company representative , Faris, arrived on time and was courteous. He made sure we had water throughout our expedition. It was a hot day so it was necessary. The ATVs were ready on arrival and the meetup location was easy to find. They took us to beautiful locations and encouraged us to take great scenic pictures. So, with their expertise, we had a blast! The gentleman, Abdullah, who rode the ATVs as our guide, was very kind to our youngest riders. He took great care of them and was sure to include them in the activities. They will remember it for a long time. Definitely using Emo Tours again during my trip and forwarding their information to family and friends.
Unforgettable Quad Tour at the Giza Pyramids!
Had an amazing experience riding a quad in the desert near the Giza pyramids! Fahd (our guide) was speaking very well english and was always listening and checking if everything ok. He took great photo and video. We went on beautiful spot, and riding different area for the sensation. Amazing view, we also saw horses running fast around us it was super fun
Quad Safari
We on the Quad Safari. It was fantastic! The transfer went without long waits etc. in an air-conditioned car. Hamadi and Qasim picked us up and explained in detail what the plan is today. Can only recommend it!
