Itinerary
Your guide will orient you to the area of East Cemetery Hill which is the location of heavy fighting during the Battle of Gettysburg before you enter the National Soldiers Orphanage Homestead. This building was used as the headquarters for General O.O. Howard during the battle and was also use as a hospital during and after the battle. After the end of the Civil War the building was turned into an orphanage for children whose fathers were lost during the American Civil War. That is where our story begins...

Fantastic tour with ghostly images of the orphanage. Mike was our “undertaker” tour guide, an experience that was memorable for the storytelling, the trek back into time in the 1800s, and the attention to detail with the appalling experiences at the orphanage in the 1860s and 1870s. We have been coming to Gettysburg for more than 3 decades, and have done many Gettysburg ghost experiences, this one booked through the Gettysburg Tour Center was absolutely the best! Mike went above and beyond to make this experience memorable, his “in character” portrayal brought the stories to life, provided an experience that ranks among some of the best ghost experiences we have had visiting historic sites around the country. As a Gettysburg scholar and a teacher of more than 25 years, our family enjoyed an enriching nighttime experience that was terrific!
