Flying boat museum

Fascinating and Unique Irish Aviation Experience Our visit to Foynes Flying Boat & Maritime Museum was a wonderful surprise and one of the most interesting attractions we visited during our trip to Ireland. The museum offers a fascinating insight into the golden age of aviation and the important role Foynes played as a hub for transatlantic flying boats in the 1930s and 1940s.

A museum not to be missed

What a great place to visit. The Foynes flying boat Museum is a great place to visit. It was very informative, with a lovely guide and also AI. It's so nice to see so many items saved from the past from a passport, menu to the original uniform. You can even go inside a remake of the clipper. It is so spacious compared to todays planes and the seats were surprisingly comfortable, even though they do not look it! Climb up into the cockpit and see the pilots view. There is also a section devoted to Maureen O'Hara. Finish your trip with a wonderful Irish coffee, with or without the whiskey!

A Great Piece of Aviation History in Foynes

This is an excellent tour for aviation enthusiasts. It provided great insight to the early days of trans-Atlantic flying and the pioneers who made it happen. Well worth the time.

Flying boats

Unexpected instructive I loved it. The view of the harbour is magnificent. Must do if you are around The exhibitions and videos show us the little-known history of these luxurious flying boats.
