Destination to see - careful how you get there

The studio was amazing. However the “ride a dragon” feature was not operational when we visited. I learned so much about the process of film making I never would have thought of as part of the process. Now about the driver : He was 30 minutes late to pick us up. Explained away that he was actually on his day off and that our driver called out. I could have forgotten about the tardiness except he carried on the entire way there and back about that, the English, and cursed excessively at other drivers among other things. Not very aware of the fact that there were children on board- some of his comments were very crass.

GOT Studio Tour

My husband is a GOT fan and really enjoyed the studio tour. The tour gives a greater appreciation for the set, props and costume work that went into the series. The 3hrs is plenty of time to go through, get something to eat in the mess hall and browse the gift shop. It was easy meet up location and the bus Fri er Patrick was excellent. Fun afternoon and worth the time for a GOT fan.

Game of Thrones tour.

Was nice to see items and costumes the cast used in the production, I was just expecting a little bit more. I loved seeing the behind the scenes videos and think there could be more of that.

Deep dive into the process!

GOT fan or fan of film industry? You will love it. It took a solid 2.5 hours and had more substance than I was anticipating. The tour went through the layers of production, storytelling, sketching, armory, textiles and costumes, decor, cinematography, studio design, and music score production (sorry, I’m sure there are more official names to this important work!). It was a day away from Dublin, and also a fun day to remember from our visit. Age range 21 - 73 enjoyed the visit!
