Full Day Private Tour to Ireland

On our 2-week visit, Eoin (the E is silent), Sharon or Peadar each drove us to the most striking natural beauty throughout the Irish countryside, some of the well known must see places and some that were hidden gems. Each day included quaint villages, historic sites, and the insider top-rated eateries. Their knowledge of Irish history and local folklore, and their skill in safely navigating challenging backroads were both educational, enjoyable and emotionally calming. And to top it all off, they are the nicest, kindest and most fun professional people we’ve met. Having the privilege of riding with these lovely folks at the wheel made us feel like we caught a bit of a case of the Luck of the Irish. We were so fortunate to have Eoin (pronounced Own, or Owen if you are from US). Always prompt and respectful and so knowledgeable of everything we saw. Eoin made wonderful, very polite, suggestions that enhanced our trip tremendously. One day highlighted his impact to our visit. We were to drive the Ring of Kerry; would have been 5+ hours in the car. Instead, without any pressure, Eoin suggested an alternate itinerary that involved a number of stops with beautiful walks through the forest to the Torc waterfall, a quick stop at Ross castle, shopping and lunch at the town of Kenmare and, ultimately, through Eion's connection, a spectacular carriage ride to the Gap of Dunlow. One of the best, if not the best, day of our 10 day visit. You will be lucky if Eion is your tour guide for any area of Ireland. Words cannot describe how thankful we are; thank you Eoin!!!!

We had the most lovely day tour of Connemara thanks to Eoin and Peadar of Galway Chauffeurs. For our first visit to Ireland, my husband and I had a lot we wanted to see in a short amount of time. While the major tour providers have options for the most popular and historical sites, we were looking for a more custom experience that would take us a bit deeper into the countryside, without having to rent and drive a car. As a knitter myself, a wishlist item was to connect with the rich history of Irish wool processing, and not just pet the pretty Aran sweaters in the city shops. Eoin helped us create a bespoke itinerary that hit all of our key interests for the day in the Connemara area, including a sheepdog demonstration at Killary Sheep Farm, visiting the Connemara Sheep & Wool Centre, and exploring the stunning Kylemore Abbey. Peadar picked us up from our hotel in Galway and we were immediately put at ease by his friendly composure. He had great suggestions about flexing the order of itinerary points for our day based on the timing windows for the sheepdog demonstration and the operating hours of our other stops, so we wouldn’t be rushing any part of our day. We were blessed with clear skies and the drive to Killary was gorgeously scenic - the whole way through, Peadar was great conversation and had fun facts to share about the views and area. Throughout our day, there were thoughtful moments that really made our experience so much more comfortable - at the farm, I had left my rain jacket in the car thinking the great weather would hold (ha!), and of course some sprinkles started to roll in. Without being prompted, Peadar was there with my coat. Later at Kylemore Abbey, he encouraged us to take our time exploring and he’d be there for us when we’re ready. This time the rain came on much heavier, and Peadar spotted us making our way back to where he had parked and quickly pulled up to meet us so we wouldn’t have to walk as far. Top notch service! We had such a special day making memories to last a lifetime - thank you Peadar and Eoin for making it happen!

We hired Galway Chauffeurs to take us from Dublin to Galway with customized stops along the way. It turned out to be the best day of our trip! Our driver, Sharon, was coincidentally from the town we wanted to investigate (our family came from that town). Sharon added so much to our adventure with local lore and history. At her suggestion, we also stopped at Sean's Bar (oldest pub in the world) for an Irish coffee. It was so lovely. Yes, you can travel from Dublin to Galway for less by bus or train, but you'd miss all the gorgeous things between the cities! Worth every penny and more.

We needed to get from Galway to Doolin for a wedding but wanted to see as much as possible. I had a plan in mind which Owen was happy to do, but he gave us the pros and cons and other suggestions. We went with his suggestions and are so glad we did. It was the best day of our trip. He customized the day to our needs. Communication was great and pricing was reasonable. Conversation in the car was just right. If we ever return to Ireland, we will use him again. We highly recommend this company.
