Early in the morning, we will pick you up from the hotel in Cusco to go to the train station of Poroy in private transport. You will take the train and start the travel to Machu Picchu a little more than 3 hours’ journey to Aguas Calientes train station.

Upon arrival, you will board the bus until the entrance of the wonderful Citadel of Machu Picchu.

Machu Picchu means “Old Mountain”, and is located 80 miles on the northeast of the city of Cusco, in the Peruvian Andes Mountain Range, surrounded by the River Vilcanota. The citadel was built by the Inca Pachacutec between 1,400 and 1,500 A.D., being the exclusive housing of Inca aristocracy. Machu Picchu is located in a subtropical area with different microclimates, and has an altitude of 2,430 meters above sea level. The guided tour will let you explore this awesome archeological site, also known as The Lost City of the Incas, for 2 hours. This place has an important local flora and fauna, surrounded by different types of orchids, and tree forests. Also, in this area lives insects, mammals, and birds as the “Gallito de las Rocas”, declared the Peruvian national bird. Enjoy your free time in Machu Picchu taking pictures or if you are brave you can climb Huayna Picchu mountain (optional).
