Visit the picturesque hilltop town of Tivoli on this day trip from Rome and discover a land of steep cliffs, rich history, and waterfalls. After getting picked up from your hotel in Rome, begin your journey to Tivoli, where you will experience the magic of two of Italy's finest World Heritage Sites. First, head to Hadrian's Villa, where you can admire the luxurious private estate built by Emperor Hadrian during his 21-year reign. Accompanied by an expert guide, explore the complex's palaces, private theatres, artificial pools and lakes in depth. As you walk through the ruins, gain a unique insight into the life, career, and imagination of the emperor, who in the final years of his life ruled the entire Roman Empire from his sumptuous retreat. Afterward, visit another of Tivoli's famous villas, the beautiful Villa d’Este. Enjoy a stroll through the villa's splendid gardens studded with a dizzying array of wonderful fountains. Cardinal d’Este’s dream was to surpass the legendary luxury of Hadrian’s Villa, even going so far as to take archaeological remains from the ruins to enrich the splendour of his own home. Important information
Know before you book
- Your guide and driver will meet you at your accommodation, as long as it is within the city centre. Please provide us with the necessary information in advance. If you are staying outside the city centre, there may be an additional charge for the driver to collect you there and drop you back again after the tour.
- Your driver will deliver you into the hands of our guide, and then the tour is a walking tour through different areas of the city with steps and uneven walkways. Comfortable walking shoes and a bottle of water are strongly recommended.
- Please advise during the booking process if there are any travelers with mobility concerns so that we can best accommodate you.
Know before you go

- Upon booking, please email the ages of all children travelling with you to office@througheternity.com.
- Please be advised that the tour itself is through archaeological areas and comfortable walking shoes and a bottle of water are strongly recommended.
- Please advise if any travelers have mobility concerns so that we can best accommodate you.
- Large bags, backpacks, and luggage cannot be brought into the sites, and we recommend you leave such items at your hotel.
- We are accredited with the city's most important sites and museums, and purchase our tickets in advance with preferred entrance to allow our clients to skip the lines. Food and drinks are not included. The cost of the tour doesn't include gratuity for the guide.
Cancellation policy
Free cancellation up to 15 days before the activity starts
15 or more days before the tour day: 90% of the cost will be refunded, minus ticket costs; Between 8 and 14 days before the tour day: 50% of the cost will be refunded, minus ticket costs; 7 days or less: no refund.

Overall the tour was good. Lots of good information about the history of Florence. The description is a little confusing, you don’t actually go in the duomo you just stay outside and learn about it.

Loved my Vatican tour with Through Eternity Tours. Our guide, Daniela, was very knowledgeable. They were also so kind to wait for us when we had a transportation mishap getting to the meeting point on time. I called, they redirected us where to go to still join the tour, and made sure they found us. I was so happy they didn’t leave us behind! I feel like other companies would not have gone that extra mile! Their communication was top notch!
