Itinerary
Immerse yourself into the two thousand year old history in the “Cradle of the Renaissance,'' through the eyes of an expert, local guide, who will take you on an unforgettable journey to discover the most beautiful squares and monuments of Florence.
One of the most elegant squares of Florence, plenty of liberty-style cafés and luxury shops.
The heart of Florence, a real open air museum where great sculptures can be found: the bronze Perseus by Cellini, the Rat of the Sabine women by Giambologna. Last but not least, this is where Palazzo Vecchio stands as well as the collonade leading to the Uffizi Gallery
Your tour will culminate in front of the breathtaking Duomo, where you can ask any last minute questions to your friendly guide before he/she departs! After this perfect introduction to Florence, you will be ready to explore the rest of our beautiful city on your own!
Follow your guide to the Accademia Galleria, one of the most famous art galleries in the world. Your guide will usher you past the long line with skip-the-line passes, and you will begin on your 1.15 hour journey in time to the Renaissance era… Your history-loving guide will bring you to the grandiose Hall of Prisoners. This hall is lined in Michelangelo’s unfinished sculptures. These blocks of marble will forever remain unfinished, and as a viewer, you can admire the exact spots where the genius, Michelangelo, worked with his chisel and hammer. Your guide will explain this unique art form of “non-finito,” where you can experience the emotions of the characters, as they are trapped in marble, waiting to emerge from the block. Discover the interesting stories of each of the “Prisoners” in this hall, as your guide leads you to the finale - “David.”
With much suspense, your guide will introduce you to the unmissable "David," dominating above the tiny viewers. Weighing over 12,000 pounds and at 17 feet tall, this is one of the largest, and most important pieces of art of all time. Discover the secrets behind this epic sculpture, while you learn more about Michelangelo and his intriguing life. Did you know Michelangelo was at the age of 26 years old when he finished “David”? Your guide will be happy to answer any of your questions about Michelangelo and his masterpieces. Then, your guide will lead you to some of the other important masterpieces found here. You will visit the intriguing and complex sculpture, “Rape of the Sabines,” by Giambologna. Continue to follow your expert guide as you visit works of art by Renaissance masters such as Sandro Botticelli, Jacopo di Cione, and Pacino di Buonaguida. You will undoubtedly discover a new appreciation for Renaissance art after a tour of the magnificent Accademia Galleria.

Educational and fun!
What a great tour! Debbie from the walking tour and Gretta from the Accademia Gallery were wonderful. Their explanations really helped me understand the history and culture of Florence better. Special shout-out to Gretta for giving an amazing story of David - I feel educated now!

Very good tour for the first time visitor to Florence
Walking tour portion was very informative and visit to Accademia was very informative b/c the guide was knowledgeable. Wear comfortable shoes. Suggest this tour if you are new to the city and have not visited many of the sites yet. We had already been in Florence for a few days and visited several of the sites that we saw on the tour.
Fun and informative
Our tour guide, Leti was amazing! She was funny and informative. We learned a lot about art and what to look for. It was nice to skip the long lines and have someone take you to the most important pieces of art and sculpture! Well worth it! Leti also gave us recommendations for where to get pizza, panini’s, and gelato. We tried all three!!! Thank you for a great experience!!
Outstanding!
Sylvia Marquès was a wonderful guide, expert in her historical lectures as we toured Florence. She is first class, knowledgeable, personable, and patient with all questions. Would recommend her highly!
